    Scout Officials For-a-day (SOFAD)

    Scout officials for-a-day is an activity that provides opportunity for the scouts to secure in the different

    offices of the local government and national line agencies.

    Two students from Don Bosco High School managed to be a part of the sixty qualified scouts with their

    corresponding positions having placed 16th

    and 23rd

    in the overall ranking of the SOFAD participants.

    Apollo Joshua Mina (4-B) replaced Atty. Antonio Tabin as City Accountant and Chloie Sade Rosete (4-A)

    who replaced Dr. Florence Reyes as City Health Officer. Before assuming their parts, they have

    undergone leadership training together with the sixty (60) SOFAD participants at the GSP council of

    Baguio City.

    Last October 14, 2013 was the SOFAD turnover and induction ceremonies at the Baguio City Hall

    grounds during the flag raising ceremony before City Mayor Mauricio Domogan who affirmed that

    scouting is a training ground of future responsible leaders.

    The SOFAD who sat as City Council headed by Scout City Mayor Chelsea Elaine Teodoro of BCNHS-Mainand Vice Mayor Vince Philip Posadas of the UBSHS-Main passed several legislative measures. Among the

    proposals were ordinances on cleanliness, environmental awareness, and public order.

    In order to implement the cleanliness and beautification of the City the Scout Council requested all

    primary and secondary schools in the City to enforce a zero plastic days. The employment of additional

    street sweepers and for the installation of garbage bins in the Citys barangays.

    For the environment the SC requested the put up of Herbarium units in every barangay and instructed

    the City parks management to pinpoint available spaces for scouts to plant trees. In order to attain

    public order Scout Council strongly proposed the implementing rules on liquor ban, comprehensive anti-

    smoking and curfew for minors and the violators of the ordinances and the corresponding penalties will

    be imposed.

    The SOFAD sat for a day as one significant activity in celebration of the National Scouting Month of

    October that carries the theme Scouting Education for Life.
