INTRODUCTION

The Beginning… SCORPION Apparel Mart Intl was

established in 2002 with a view to change the current trends of the garment export business in Bangladesh. The aim was to have partners who would not only be the owners, but who would have “hands-on” involvement in the day-to-day operations of manufacturing and quality control, to ensure that we could provide superior quality at the most competitive price.

We offer turn-key orders where we can even deliver to your warehouse.

We act on behalf of our customer and ensure that the factory and the vendors are all maintaining quality and schedule.

We have skilled in-house quality assurance executives who are appointed at different factories during production and conduct our own in-line inspections as per our customers’ standards and required AQL. We always keep in touch with our customers through e-mail, phone and fax. We have several 24-hr/7days phone lines for our customers. We send samples of fabric, trims, accessories and garments at different levels before and during production, for approval and reference.

What about quality? SCORPION Apparel takes full responsibility to ensure the best quality apparel. Our in-house Quality Controllers are employed full-time at each factory during production and personally inspect the garments every day at every stage of production—from fabric spreading to packing of finished product. The owners of SCORPION themselves visit the factories everyday to ensure proper management and administration alongside quality assurance .

Why manufacture in Bangladesh?

Bangladesh is the 6th largest apparel supplier to the USA and EU countries. The country exports its apparel products worth about US$ 15 billion per year to the USA, EU, Canada and other countries of the world. Bangladesh is endowed with abundant and cheap semi-skilled and skilled work force. Price is one of the main determinants of comparative advantage in the labor-intensive garment industry.

Following are our key functions:

1. Development Product development: from fabric and trims, to pattern, sewing construction, to finishing and packaging in order to manufacture the exact product ordered by the client. Merchandizing and costing of specific products as per customers’ specifications. Development of manufacturing methods.

2. Sourcing Finding the best source, home and abroad, of all raw materials including trims and packing materials required to manufacture the product. Source and arrange the best sewing factory suitable for a particular item. Source and arrange the best shipping line, if required.

3. Planning and sampling Fabric sourcing and planning and control of fabric production schedules. Providing pre-production confirmation samples of fabric, lab-dips, trims, and sewn garments for approval prior to beginning production. Production samples during bulk production for comments and reference. Planning and control of production schedules.
