(IIMC) conducted feedback and concluding session of 6th Advanced Global Leadership Program (AGLP) on September 25, 2017 at SCOPE Convention Centre, New Delhi. Testing Facilities at IndianOil’s R&D Centre in Faridabad recently. Mr. K. D. Tripathi, Secretary, MoPNG; Mr. Sanjiv Singh, Chairman, IndianOil; Dr. S. S. V. Ramakumar, Director (R&D), IndianOil, and other senior officials accompanied the Minister on his visit to the various research facilities on the R&D Centre campus.

The R&D facilities inaugurated are designed to test all types of fuels, such as petrol, diesel, ethanol-blended petrol, bio-diesel, CNG, LNG, Hydrogen-CNG and 2G-ethanol blends, to ensure that they meet the superior BS-VI norms that are to be implemented across the country by April 2020. 51st Annual General Meeting of Goa Shipyard Limited was held recently wherein the Company adopted the Annual Accounts for FY 2016-17. The meeting was attended by members of the Board of Directors, shareholders and other senior functionaries of GSL. RAdm. Shekhar Mital, NM (RETD), CMD reported yet again excellent all round results both on Operational and Financial fronts wherein VoP has jumped to Rs. 1030 Crore (highest in the history of GSL).

The Company has declared dividend of Rs. 40.74 Crore being 70% of the Paid-up Share Capital of Rs 58.20 Crore (post allotment of 1:1 Bonus Shares) for the year 2016-17, as against 64% Dividend paid on the Paid-up Share Capital of Rs 29.10 Crore in the previous year. This is more than 100% increase.

“Swachhta Hi Seva” Abhiyan was organised by Goa Shipyard Ltd on the occasion of "Gandhi Jayanti". RAdm. Shekhar Mital, NM (RETD), CMD GSL, S. P. Raikar Director (operations) along with other Officers, employees & CISF GSL Unit took part in the cleaning campaign from Goa Shipyard Ltd to Mormugao Municipal Council. Minister of State for Shipping Cuts the First Steel Plate for 1200 Pax Passenger Vessels in CSL

Mr. Pon Radhakrishnan, Minister of State for Shipping, Road Transport & Highways cut

the first steel plate of Ship No. 23 and Mr. N K Premachandran, Member of Parliament cut the first steel plate of Ship No. 24, the two 1200 Passenger cum 1000 Tonne Cargo Ships contracted to be built for the Andaman & Nicobar Administration. The Plate cutting ceremony was held recently. This ceremony is the start of physical construction process of ships. CSL is currently building two passenger cum cargo ships for the island territory, with 500 passengers and 150 Tonne cargo capacity, which are progressing satisfactorily.

Mr. Madhu S. Nair, CMD CSL, in his welcome speech thanked the Ministry for the role it played in arriving at a contract for building these vessels by including this under Make in India Scheme. Mr. Pon Radhakrishnan in his speech reiterated the commitment of the Ministry of Shipping towards the major expansion programmes undertaken in CSL.

Mr. N. K. Premachandran, M.P., representing the

Shipyard Employees Union, also spoke on the occasion wherein he appreciated the efforts of the Central Government in awarding the contract to build first of its kind passenger ships to CSL. Directors, senior officers, supervisors and workmen of CSL participated. Representatives from the A&N Administration, Shipping Corporation of India, Indian Register of Shipping, Lloyds Register, the classification societies and design partners attended the function.

CMD, GAIL, Mr. B. C. Tripathi recently launched a Start-up initiative titled ‘Pankh’ to identify and promote innovative ventures. Mr.

Subir Purkayastha, Director (Finance), Mr. P. K. Gupta, Director (Human Resources), Mr. Gajendra Singh, Director (Marketing) along with senior officials of GAIL were present on the occasion.

To promote the initiative, GAIL has created a corpus of Rs 50 crores for investing in Start-ups and would also provide mentoring to them in core areas of the company, i.e., natural gas and its derivatives.

Mr. Tripathi also launched a Start-up Web Portal through which potential candidates can submit their proposals to GAIL. The Portal can be accessed through the GAIL website www.gailonline.com and will remain open till August 16, 2017.

NRDC signed three license agreements for commercialization of herbal formulations to get victory over hair fall and dandruff (Geranium Hair Care

Shampoo), mental stress (Relaxomap-stress relieving oil) & Acne problems (Acne Face Wash). These three technologies are developed by CSIR-CIMAP, Lucknow under Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt. of India.

License Agreement was signed and exchanged between Controller of Administration, CSIR-CIMAP, Lucknow, and Dr. H. Purushotham Chairman & Managing Director, National Research Development Corporation (NRDC) and Md. Intekhab Alam, Director, M/s Naturoveda Organics Private Limited, Kolkata at CSIR-CIMAP, Lucknow, senior officials from NRDC, CIMAP & Naturoveda Organics were also present during signing ceremony.

The Shipping Corporation of India Ltd (SCI) has taken delivery of a secondhand Multi-purpose Support Vessel (MPSV) at Singapore

recently. The vessel has been named ‘SCI Saraswati’ and added to SCI fleet. The deadweight tonnage (DWT) of the vessel is 3,719 tonnes and the gross tonnage (GT) is 3,616. The vessel complies with DPS2 requirements and SPS 2008 code and has been dual classed with Indian Register of Shipping and American Bureau of Shipping.

Oil India Limited (OIL), the second largest national E&P Company in the country, launched its Start-Up initiative by entering in to agreements with two North-East based Start-Up

ventures, at Guwahati recently. CMD OIL, Mr. Utpal Bora signed the MOU’s on behalf of OIL, along with Prof. Prasanna, Dean IIT Guwahati, and the Directors of the two Start Up Companies, Innotech Interventions Pvt Ltd and RD Grow Green Ltd.

The MoUs were signed in the presence of the Hon’ble Minister for Industries, Govt of Assam, Mr. Chandra Mohan Patowary, who was the Chief Guest at the ceremony. Director (Operations), OIL, Mr. P.K. Sharma, Director (E&D), OIL, Dr P. Chandrasekharan and RCE, OIL, Mr. B.P. Sarma, along with a host of dignitaries and senior officials of Oil India Limited were present on the occasion.

After exporting to 18 countries worldwide, NRL Wax is now on its way to Sri Lanka. The first consignment comprising of 20 MT of

NRL Paraffin Wax was flagged off last week to Sri Lanka from Inland Container Depot (ICD ) Amingaon , Guwahati by Mr. A. C. Das, Terminal Manager, CONCOR India Limited and Mr. R. N. Doley , Superintendent of Custom, ICD Amingaon in presence of NRL Marketing officers, Staff from CONCOR India Ltd & Custom office ICD Amingaon. ICDs are inland points away from sea ports formed to help exporters and importers to handle their shipments near their place of location. ICD Amingaon is managed by CONCOR India – a central PSU.

In the recent past, NRL has despatched export consignment to Myanmar and Kenya from ICD Amingaon. Within couple of weeks, NRL is all set to export two more consignments of Parrafin Wax to USA and Mexico from ICD Amingaon.

2017-2022 Pledge on the occassion of "Quit India Movement" anniversary at WAPCOS Corporate Office recently.

National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) joined the Nation in observing

the 75th Anniversary of Quit India Movement. To mark the occasion, pledge for a New India was administered to the employees of NALCO in Odia, Hindi and English. The employees of the Corporate Office also participated in community singing of National Anthem on the occasion.

of the company. Chairman personally interacted on the imperatives and challenges before the company in the present trying times before the company. Chairman clearly spelt out expectations from SAIL especially Bhilai Steel Plant collective where the ramping up of production from newly commissioned Universal Rail Mill producing World’s single longest piece of rail, is in full swing. Chairman encouraged two way flows of ideas during the interaction to ensure positive embedding of the message. Chairman Coal India Limited visits NCL: Reviews company’s performance and flags off various new initiatives

Visit of Mr. Sutirtha Bhattacharya, CMD, Coal India Limited to NCL concluded recently. During his 2-day visit to NCL, Mr. Bhattacharya

reviewed performance of the company, inspected mines and working of drones and inaugurated various new initiatives of the company. On this occasion, the Chairman, CIL, Mr. Sutirtha Bhattacharya informed that Coal India Limited has started a 'Table Tennis Academy' in Kolkata. He also informed that CIL has contributed Rs.25 crores to National Sports Development Fund, a corpus set by Government of India for promotion of sports. He further added that 'Coal India National Hockey Academy' and Football Academy is also in the offing.

Later, Mr. Bhattacharya laid foundation stone of Kalyan Mandap in Jayant. To be built with the cost of Rs.464 lakhs, the mandap would ensure venue availability for social functions. Equipped with 24 guest rooms, one multipurpose hall, one dining hall and an administrative building, the mandap will provide necessary facilities for organising social gathering. Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) recently contributed Rs. Two lakh for distribution of relief materials among flood victims of Rayagada and

Kalahandi districts of Odisha. Hundreds of people were reported affected in Rayagada and Kalahandi districts due to recent incessant rains in Odisha.

Sambalpur district administration had made a general appeal for contributions to arrange relief materials for distribution among flood victims of affected districts. In a quick response to the appeal made for distribution of relief material among flood-affected people of Rayagada and Kalahandi districts, MCL handed over a cheque of rupees two lakh to Mr. Smarth Verma, IAS, Collector Sambalpur.

As part of its CSR initiatives, on the request put forth by Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, Founder, Isha Foundation, the NLCIL management has taken up the task of revitalizing the Kurichi Lake under its

CSR initiatives by Distilling & deepening of 280 Acres of the lake area with an estimated cost of Rs.1.65 Crs and to be completed within a schedule of 3 months. The Kurichi lake is a prime ground water enhancer of the area at Coimbatore. NLCIL plans to distil about 3.40 lakhs cubic meters (1.2 crores cubic feet) of sand to augment the storage capacity of the lake by 34 crores litres in addition to the excising capacity.

At a function held recently at the Kurichi Lake, Dr. S.K Acharya CMD, NLCIL commenced the Distilling works and performed the pooja in the presence of Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev and Mr. S. P. Velumani, Minister for Local Administration, Government of Tamilnadu.

Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Ltd. (MDL) organized a free Eye check-up Camp

recently at Gavan village (Panvel Taluka) for persons residing in villages in the vicinity of MDL-NHAVA YARD. This camp was organized by CSR cell of MDL in collaboration with M/s. Laxmi Charitable Trust, a renowned NGO based at Panvel.

A total of 304 persons availed the services of the Eye Screening Camp. Out of these 152 patients were provided free spectacles by MDL. 72 persons, diagnosed with cataract, would be treated/operated at Laxmi Eye Institute, Panvel. All expenses incurred toward the cataract operations will be borne by MDL.

Airports Authority of India launched several welfare programmes for the women and children living in slum areas of Kolkata airport recently. The programme was launched by the AAI’s

Women Welfare Association ‘Kalyanmayee’, Eastern Region at Residential Complex, New Quarters, NSCBI Airport, Kolkata. Under the flagship programme of Govt for promoting girl child “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao”, Kalyanmayee is adopting three girl children from the area and will bear cost for their education and other related activities.

Besides, a masala grinding project was also launched on the occasion under the Self Help Scheme of Kalyanmayee. Kalyanmayee aims to provide livelihood to the women under this scheme by selling the freshly prepared masala.

A tea stall was also inaugurated at AAI Guest House on the occasion. The tea stall will be run by Kalyanmayee members and revenue generated will be used for various welfare activities. Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Ltd. (MDL) organized a free artificial limbs distribution camp recently at MGM Institute of Medical Sciences, Kalamboli for persons with

disabilities (divyang). This camp was organized by MDL in collaboration with M/s Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation (ALIMCO) as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.

A total of 413 divyangs, different types of artificial limbs including motorized tricycle, wheel chairs, hearing aids and MSIED kits, were given during the camp. The entire expenditure for artificial limbs was borne by MDL.

The scope of the MoU is to identify relevant factors influencing the development of civil aviation infrastructure in Uttarakhand, assessing commercial potential of various airports of the State, identifying technical considerations for airport operations in the State, evaluating site related technical and engineering parameters for development of projects, making estimate of the capital outlay for the future projects and development of master plan for existing and future civil aviation infrastructure in the state.

Hindustan Copper Limited (HCL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Mishra Dhatu Nigam Limited (MIDHANI) at HCL Corporate Office, Kolkata,

recently for a joint collaboration in area of production of Copper-Nickel tubes and related items.

This will promote “Make in India” Initiative and create significant business synergy for HCL and MIDHANI. The MoU was signed by Mr. K. D. Diwan, CMD, HCL, and Dr. D. K. Likhi, CMD, MIDHANI, in presence of senior officers of HCL and MIDHANI.

NBCC signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the FY 2017-18 with Hindustan Steelworks Construction Limited (HSCL). HSCL has recently been

taken over by NBCC (India) Ltd., as its Subsidiary. The MoU, signed between Dr. Anoop Kumar Mittal, CMD, NBCC and Mr. M. Bhaduri, CMD, HSCL, sets the targets for HSCL under various parameters for the FY. Mr. S. K. Pal, Director (Fin); Rajendra Chaudhari, Director (Commercial); Neelesh Shah, Sr. ED, NBCC (India) Ltd. and other senior officers of NBCC and HSCL were present on the occasion. A general review of the various projects under HSCL were also taken on the occasion when Dr. Mittal provided valuable inputs to HSCL for implementation during the year.

NBCC (India) Limited and NBCC Engineering & Consultancy Limited (NECL), a wholly owned Subsidiary of NBCC, have recently signed MoU for the FY 2017-18. As per

the MoU, signed between Dr. Anoop Kumar Mittal, CMD, NBCC and Mr. S. D. Sharna, CEO, NECL, the targets for NECL under various parameters for the FY have been set. The event was graced by Mr. S. K. Pal, Chairman, NECL; Mr. Rajendra Chaudhari, Director (Commercial), NBCC; Mr. Neelesh Shah, Sr. Executive Director, NBCC; Mr. N. P. Aggarwal & Mr. M B Singhal, Directors, NECL and other Senior Officers of the Company.. A general review of various projects were also held at the event when Dr. Mittal, CMD, urged upon NECL to put in their best to further consolidate the position of the Subsidiary and to ensure achievement of all the targets fixed for the FY 17-18.

Rural Electrification Corporation Limited (REC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) extending

a term loan worth Rs. 13,000 crore to Mahagenco for generation projects, FGD systems, STP, working capital and special loan requirements.

The MoU was signed recently between Dr. P.V. Ramesh, Chairman & Managing Director, REC and Mr. Bipin Shrimali, CMD, Mahagenco, in the presence of Mr. Devendra Fadnavis, Chief Minister of Maharashtra and Mr. Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Energy Minister of Maharashtra and senior officials from the Maharashtra government, REC and Mahagenco.
