SCM242 Course Overview

Course OverviewThe course explains the functions of material requirements planning within ProductionPlanning and Detailed Scheduling (PP/DS) in SAP APO. This course (ProductionPlanning Part 2) extends from SCM240 (Production Planning Part 1). SCM240 explainsthe basic concepts of material requirements planning, using SAP R/3 Enterprise as anexample. This course deals with transferring these basic concepts to SAP APO PP/DS andexplains the special functions available in SAP APO PP/DS that are not available in SAPR/3 MRP. The capacity planning and optimization functions that are possible in PP/DSare dealt with in the course SCM360. At the end of the course, participants will be able touse the functions of the following areas:

Planned independent requirements in SAP APO PP/DS Sales orders in SAP APO PP/DS Execution of production planning and detailed scheduling, such as finite and infinite Functions of the individual planning methods (heuristics) Evaluation of the planning result Transfer of the planning results to SAP R/3 for execution

Target AudienceThis course is intended for the following audiences:

Project team members and key users who are responsible for the implementation ofproduction planning using SAP APO PP/DS within mySAP SCM.

Course PrerequisitesRequired Knowledge

SCM200: Supply Chain Planning Overview SCM210: Core Interface APO SCM240: Production Planning Part 1
