What’s biodiversity?

Our planet has millions of species. There are many more species that we haven’t discovered yet. This is called biodiversity.

What are the characteristics of living things?

All living things are made up of cells.

All living things carry out the basic life processes of interaction, reproduction and nutrition.

What are the different parts of an animal cell?

Membrane

Organelles

Nucleus Cytoplasm

What are the different parts of a plant cell?

Nucleus

Vacuole

Membrane

Cell wall

How are animals organised?

Similar cells join together to form tissues. Different tissues join together to form organs. Organs work together to form systems.

Are all cells the same?

Not all cells are the same. Different cells have different functions.

Red blood cells Nerve cells Reproductive cells

How are plants organised?

Plants are organised in a similar way to animals.

What systems do living things have?

Interaction: the muscular system, the skeletal system and nervous system

Reproduction: the female and male reproductive systems

Nutrition: the digestive system, the respiratory system and the circulatory system
