Statement of the Problem
• Will flowers grow faster under different light sources?
![Page 3: Science Fair Project](https://reader036.fdocuments.us/reader036/viewer/2022070408/5681440c550346895db0a55c/html5/thumbnails/3.jpg)
Project Overview
• I will take two flowers and both put them under a different light source. They both got the same amount of light, soil, and water. They both stood in the light for the same amount of time each day.

Research
• Read book about flowers• Search internet for flower facts.• Searched internet for fast growing flowers.
![Page 5: Science Fair Project](https://reader036.fdocuments.us/reader036/viewer/2022070408/5681440c550346895db0a55c/html5/thumbnails/5.jpg)
Variables
• Independent: Amount of light• Dependent: Height of flowers• Constants: Time of day, 1 hour in sun, type of
flowers, cup of soil (12 cm), cup of water (100 mm).
• Control Group: Flower heated by the sun
![Page 6: Science Fair Project](https://reader036.fdocuments.us/reader036/viewer/2022070408/5681440c550346895db0a55c/html5/thumbnails/6.jpg)
Hypothesis
• Hypothesis• If flowers can grow in the sun then they can
grow under a lamp because they both give off heat
• My educated guess was that the sun would make the flowers grow faster because most plants are used to growing in the sun. The sun made the flower grow faster.

Materials
• Ruler• 1400 mm of water• 24 cm of soil • Flower (x2)• Cup for soil (x2)• Lamp• Sunlight

Procedures
1. Buy 2 of the same type of flowers2. Put 12 cm for each cup3. Put 1 flower in each cup4. Give each flower 100 mm of water each day5. Put 1 flower in sun for 1 hour6. Put one flower under lamp for 1 hour7. Take flowers out of light 8. Put them in a room temperature room overnight

Flower 1 (lamp)Floweer 2 (sun)
As you can see the 2nd flower grew more.
They started out at different heights but the 2nd grew more.

Conclusion
• I concluded that the sun made the flower grow better. I gave the flower more pedals, and taller.
![Page 12: Science Fair Project](https://reader036.fdocuments.us/reader036/viewer/2022070408/5681440c550346895db0a55c/html5/thumbnails/12.jpg)
Possible Experimental Errors
• The errors could have been that the different heights of the flowers made one go through its growth spurt and the other already been through it.

Applications and Recommendation
• For improvements I would recommend buying flowers that are the same type. Start the project a little bit early incase there are any problems.
