Computing
Selection is when your program has to make a choice.
E.g.
1. Look at the algorithm for a 2 times table quiz:
2. Create a quiz algorithm that
uses selection like the exam-
ple. It could be a times table
quiz, a history quiz, a
sports quiz or a quiz on an-
ything else you would like.

Last week you creat-
ed ‘World Ocean Day’
posters and wrote
persuasive letters to
people about how to
reduce the use of
plastic.
If you haven’t al-
ready, you can share
your letters with the
school so we can share them more widely. Alter-
natively, you may wish to send them to compa-
nies who you feel could reduce the amount of
plastics they use.
This 3 part series ‘War on Plastic’, looks at where
the problem is coming from and how to solve it:

P.E. — The Daily Mile
We all need to continue to be physi-
cally active and ‘The Daily Mile at
Home’ can help us to do
this. Continue doing this challenge as
a family and include any brothers or
sisters.
What to do
‘Visit’ each of the landmarks on the ‘Get to know Cam-
bridgeshire’ sheets as you do TDM. Find out what you
didn’t know about where we live !
Start where you like on the map and then follow
the yellow arrows. Jog, run or walk the miles be-
tween each landmark, crossing off your miles as
you complete them.
There are 120 miles in total, so for each Daily
Mile you complete, cross off one box on the map
(worth 4 map miles). Count how many days it
takes you in total to ‘Get to Know Cambridge-
shire’.
Find out at least 2 facts about each landmark
whilst you are completing that leg of your journey
and write them in the boxes provided.
Design and Technology - Cooking and Nutrition - Celebrating Culture and Global Foods.
For this week’s task, you will be researching and cooking a recipe from a different part of the world.
Task 1
See resource 1. Read about different school dinners around the world.
Task 2
Research a recipe from a different part of the world which you would like to cook. Please discuss this with people at
home. You may want to plan ahead and ask your parents/carers to buy the ingredients for you.
Here are some examples which you may want to choose from:
Mexican food such as fajitas or burritos
Thai food such as Thai green curry or noodles
German food such as soft pretzels or Bratwurst
Task 3
Draw a table, like resource 2, to explore the ingredients in your recipe. You may need to fill some of these sections in after
you have made your dish.
Task 4
With adult supervision, follow the recipe you have chosen. Remember to use appropriate techniques when handling food.

R.E.— Faith through Art—Lesson 2
Christians worship God in many ways. Through dance, drama, ritual, song and
prayer through to architecture, story, poetry and art. All of these can be
classed as part of worship. But today we are focusing on art.
Starter:
Set a timer to 3 minutes. On a piece of
paper draw a quick sketch of one of
the following people: Jesus, Mary, a
saint.
Now look at your drawing— What did
you draw? Where did your ideas come
from? Why might artists have different
representations of Jesus?
Today we are going to look at
‘Byzantine icons’. Byzantine icons are
sacred paintings. They often depict
Christ, his mother (Mary), scenes from
the Bible or the lives of Saints.
Look at these two
icons and write down
5 things you notice.
Think about; colours,
shapes, symbols,
styles, object, or an-
ything else . . .
French Home Learning Year 6 Week beginning 15th June
Bonjour tout le monde. Comment ca va? J’éspère que tout va
bien a la maison.
Task 1
Alors, cette semaine (this week) on va commencer avec l’école –
les matières . (Les matières = the subjects.)
We are going to link our learning on time (that we have done
in school before) with the subjects we do in school.
Firstly, practise the hour hand:
A une heure / a deux heures…. Etc
Now practise the minute hand : cinq / dix / et quart / vingt /
vingt-cinq / et demie / moins vingt-cinq….etc
Like we do when we are in school, try to role-play both the
question and the answer with someone at home.
A l’école, les maths commence a quelle heure?
Oh les maths commence a neuf heures et demie.
Et l’histoire finit a quelle heure?
L’histoire finit a midi vingt.
Puis (then) c’est le déjeuner.
Task 2
Have a go at playing the memory game with food in the
past tense.
Play with either someone at home or, if you are able to,
a friend/relative on the phone.
Repeat each sentence before adding your own!!
For example:
First:
lemonade.
Well done. Have a good week. Très bien, bonne semaine.
