The standard version includes all established components for a goodcut. You will benefit from the technical innovations offered byEasy Cut II. The roller guides can be mounted subsequently very easilywithout much time and effort.

Cutting system Easy Cut II

The additional advantage of the bottom guiding roller means less fric-tion on the knife back and therefore less wear. We recommend usingthe bottom guiding roller for cutting widths starting at a minimum of20 feet (6 metres). It is not recommended for all types of cutting units,please ask us if the premium version is suitable for your combine!

The top guiding roller. For a straight knife movement.The advantage of a straight knife movement is an extended lifetime ofknife and guards. We recommend using the top guiding rollers in com-bination with wear plates for all established cutting units and com-bine types.

Please note: the mounting dimension determines the type of doubleguard (12/14/17 mm) and the thickness of the wear plate (4/5/6 mm).

Mounting of a 12 mm double guard on a dimension of 14mm: The guard will be extended. The gap becomes toowide and the knife has too much room for movement.Mounting of a 14 mm double guard on a dimension of 12 mm: Theguard will be squeezed. The gap becomes too tight and the knifecannot move properly anymore.

Guards should be checked regularly for wear. A new guard has a gap of3.8 - 4.2 mm.

When changing the guards, simply check the wear platesas well. If the edges of the plates also show wear, theknife is unstable and so the new guards will be worn outquickly again.

Further checking for wear during the change of guards.

A cutting gap of more than 5.4 mm causes “floating” of the knife. Therounded cutting edges cannot hold and cut the crops properly any-more. They will get pulled into the cutting gap.

Upgrade your existing Schumachercutting system with roller guides.

The top guiding roller R1 holds theknife in a straight line, preventing thesection from tipping downwards. Thisprotects sections and guards fromwear.

R1 top guiding roller

In combination with the top guidingroller, the bottom guiding roller takescare of the knife guidance instead ofthe wear plates only. This means lessfriction, less vibration and less wear onthe drive unit.

R2 bottom guiding roller

If you own a Schumacher cutting system already, you can simply up-grade it with roller guides and gain the advantage of a great knifeguidance. Choose your option of rollers along with the new shortenedwear plates.

Section types for various conditions.

Check frequently. Check section serrations for wear.

If the teeth are extremely pointed,the section will not cut cleanly.The teeth will grab the stalk insteadof cutting it and pull it into the cut-ting gap of the guard. This will in-crease knife load which demandsincreased power requirements.

If the teeth are rounded, the knifeis blunt and the crops will not becut properly anymore. This willcause increased power require-ments as well.

Easy Cut II knife assemblies can be supplied with fine or coarsesections as required.

The ASK reliably indicates when wear occurs.

The ASK doesn’t wear out quickly.

From tip to mounting module, thesliding skid is concave shaped.

Critical wear appears only in themiddle of the sliding skid. The sidesremain solid.

The new bend at the mounting mo-dule offers more ground clearancefor the first rivet. So wear will bereduced considerably.
