It has been wonderful to see the students develop in confidence and exhibit the schools ROCK Values on a daily basis. Sadly, this is the week that we have to say goodbye to some teachers, students and families. A big thank you again to Alanna White and Rachel Van Der Waarden for their dedication to the education of our students. I wish our 10 graduating students all the best for their next big adventure. The school that you are going to, are all lucky to have you. Thank you to the following families who are sadly saying goodbye: Williamson family, Hyde (Damon) family, Mulcahy family and Varone family. To celebrate these staff and students we will be having a Walk of Fame on Thursday 13 th December at 2:45pm on the Basketball Court. We welcome parents, family members and community members to be part of this occasion. School Board News

Wednesday 28th November was the last School Board meeting for 2018. At this meeting we farewelled

three of our members. I would like to thank Monique Brown, Colin Holmes and Jenna Mouritz for their

dedication to improving the education of our students. I would also like to welcome Steve Jones (parent

representative), Emma Meeking (Community representative) and Fina Di Russo (Staff representative), who

will become part of the School Board in 2019.

Thursday, 13th December will be the students last day at school for the year and will be a Positive Behaviours Day for students, a reward for students who hold good standing for displaying the positive be-haviour which we expect at Hyden Primary School. All students are welcome to wear free dress.

The Senior Class will have a pool party from around 11am onwards at the Hyden Pool. Students must bring

with them their bathers, hat, towel, sun cream, plate of lunch to share and a water bottle. The remainder of

students with good standing will take part in fun activities with their class.

If you have ordered a year book you will be asked to collect it after the concert on Thursday night.

Concert

Your children have been making good progress learning their items for the concert. We hope that you are able to promote this event in the community and within your families, and look forward to seeing a great crowd at the event this year.

The ceremony commences at 6:30pm at the Hyden Town Hall on Thursday, 13th December 2018.

Children will attend school as per normal on Thursday, 13th December. Friday, 14th December is a pupil

free day. Thank you and we hope to see you all in attendance.

Children are encouraged to bring a water bottle for the night.

Throughout the graduation, presentations and concert students are to remain with their teacher.

Eastern Districts Cricket Blast School Cup

On the 28th November, the Year 3-6 students participated in the Eastern Districts Cricket Blast School Cup

in Narembeen. I would like to thank Alanna White, Fina Di Russo and Dee Aggiss for coaching our three

teams. I would also like to thank Astrid Mead for driving the bus and Fina Di Russo and Lauren Hinck for

transporting students in their car. The day was a successful one for the students of Hyden. The Year 3/4

team did not win a game but they showed great sportsmanship. Lisa Manning was named Most Valuable

Player. There were two Year 5/6 teams. Team 1 won all their games and their Most Valuable Player was

Harry Burns. Team 2 also won all of their games and their Most Valuable Player was Thomas Spurr.

Congratulations to Adam Varone who won the catching contest amongst all of the schools.

Values Program

Children each week will be awarded with a Values Voucher. This will be awarded to children who consist-ently display the values of respect, optimism, courage or knowledge. Below are the recipients for the Values Vouchers in Week 8 & 9, Term 4.

Ruby Graham shows OPTIMISM by speaking to her peers in a positive tone.

Lily Burns shows RESPECT when she accepts others’ opinions and differences.
