OverviewAiglon College was founded in 1949 by the British visionary, John Corlette, and is located 1170 meters above sea level in the French-speaking village of Chesières in the Swiss Alps. We are an independent, non-profit organisation, strongly rooted in our alpine location. All students follow a programme of challenge including mountain expeditions in addition to their academic studies.

Students in Years 12 & 13 follow the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB). We also administer examinations and certification schemes run by Edexcel, AQA, University of Cambridge International Examinations, the Royal Academy of Dance, the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music, the College Board and the International Award for Young People (the international arm of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme).

Our student body comprises 357 students (53% boys and 47% girls), of whom 89% are boarders; students may start in the Junior School from the age of nine. Aiglon College has been accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS) and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) since 2000 and is a founding member of the Round Square association of schools.

International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB)The two-year International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme was introduced in 2010. The IB is an academically demanding two-year programme, well-suited to the Aiglon study style which encourages independent learning, enquiry and self-sufficiency.

As well as academic achievement across six subjects, students must complete an extended essay, a Theory of Knowledge (TOK) course and a Creativity, Action and Service programme to gain their IB Diploma. A total of 67 students (out of 73) of the Class of 2017 were

entered for the Diploma. The overall pass rate was 97%, and additionally, 27% of all students achieved a Bilingual IB Diploma.
