SCHOOL OF ARTS AND SCIENCE VINAYAKA MISSION’S RESEARCH FOUNDATION AV CAMPUS FRESHER’S DAYREPORT The Fresher’s day for the batch of 2021 -2022 was conducted on 16/09/2021 in School of Arts and Science, Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation, AV Campus, Paiyanoor. The freshers were given welcome by the senior students. The programme began with veneration to the Almighty, followed by Tamilthai Vazhthu. The freshers along with the chief guest were honoured to light the lamp as a symbol of their bright future. The gathering was welcomed by Prof. I. Ameeth Basha, Head of the Department of Chemistry. The presidential address was delivered by the Dean and Director of SAS, Dr. R. Shanmugavalli. She expressed her happiness and greeted the chief guest Mr. Sathya Kumar, Advocate, Madras High court. She introduced all the HODs of the programms offered by SAS and other administrative officials of the campus. Furthermore, she highlighted the U.G/P.G programms offered by SAS. During her speech she enlighten the students with a life lessons from Mahabharata and modern corporate world. The guest of the day Mr. M Sathya Kumar, advocate,Madras High Court proclaimed his happiness and gratitude to the Honourable Chancellor, Dr. A.S. Ganeshan, and Dr. Anuradha Ganeshan, director, VMRF. He instructed the students to practice informal education along with formal education. The freshers were felicitated by all the HODs of SAS, Mr. Syed Mohamed, Campus incharge, and senior students. Acknowledgement of the welcome note was given some of the freshers. The cultural events were performed by the senior students to cheer up the budding and bubbling flowers of academic year 2021 – 2022 batch. The programme ended by thanks note by Dr. Kavitha, HoD of computer science department. At the end of the programme, on account of the International Ozone Day, the freshers were given the saplings and asked to plant them near the Shanmuga Block.
