COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS We will create educational partnerships to promote collaboration, improve communication, and provide programs for greater learning opportunities. School Overview: Last year South Ridge performed well above the state average in all areas of the State Assessment. South also experienced another year of growth and now has

a student population of approx. 750 students. We have added six additional portable classrooms. This year also brings nineteen new staff members to the South

Ridge team. Having successfully achieved most of the priorities for the 2016-2017 school year, we will continue with the implementation of the four-year plan.

South received an award for continuing to remain well above state standards while experiencing extreme growth.

The goals in this plan will support a 4-year process to bring all South Ridge students up to a 90% performance level in all academic areas. Details and timeline for

the implementation process are below.

and activities that support staff and students. Parents volunteer on a daily basis in the classrooms supporting academic and clerical needs for teachers. Watch

Dogs is a program specific for the fathers of our students. Our goal is to have a Watchdog in the building everyday of the year. We also have a parent advisory

committee that provides feedback on our school wide systems and improvement efforts.

Special Offering: Students have an opportunity to participate in Math Is Cool, Science Olympiad and Mad Science. Specialists provide music (vocal & band), art and physical education weekly. The South Ridge counselor is the advisor for the ASB. The ASB students plan school activities to foster a welcoming environment for all students. There are highly capable opportunities in all classroom. The Ridgefield Public School Foundation also provides grants related to student achievement. 5th grade students attend CISPUS for 5 days of outdoor school. Collaboration: Collaboration, done effectively, can dramatically improve our pedagogy, school climate, and student learning. In order to allow the time necessary for ongoing collaboration, so that we can thoroughly improve without artificial deadlines and focus on quality, we are committed to weekly collaboration time. The main goal of collaboration is to work together to share ideas, improve teaching practice, and strengthen our schools.
