Early Learning ProgramsThe Early Learning Program of the West St. Paul - Mendota Heights - Eagan Area Schools offers a variety of programming opportunities for families with children birth to kindergarten age living in the district community. Programming includes home visits and parent and child classes offered through Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE), child-only preschool experiences offered through our Community Preschool classes, and ECFE’s Building Bridges program for Spanish-speaking families, which offers a traditional ECFE class in Spanish or a Family Literacy option for English language learners.

Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) services are provided for children from birth through kindergarten. If you have questions or concerns regarding your child’s development please call 651-403-7011 (Birth to Three Special Services Team or Early Intervention Services for children age 3 through kindergarten).

District-community collaborations and partnerships provide the Early Learning program with the opportunity to offer innovative programming and the highest quality early learning experience for children. School District 197 has a comprehensive curriculum review cycle that ensures a high quality, rigorous and relevant educational program for all students.

In the 2013-14 school year, the district will continue the expansion of AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) with opportunities for students in grades 7-10. The new Minnesota Social Studies Academic Standards will be implemented in grades 5-12. All curricular adoptions meet MN Academic Standards and many include online resources for parents, students and teachers. Early Childhood Screening: Required for Kindergarten, Call 651-403-7635 for an appointment. Early Childhood Screening is a free service of the school district that provides an overview of a child’s development. Screening is best completed at age 3½ or before a child’s fourth birthday. Minnesota requires that all children be screened before entering kindergartenatapublicschool.Pleasecallourscreeningofficeat 651-403-7635 to schedule your child’s appointment.

During screening a nurse will check: hearing, vision*, immunization records, cognitive and motor skills, speech language and communication and social/emotional development. Parents will be provided with information on their child’s development, kindergarten readiness as well as other community resources. *While screening helps the district identify children who may benefit from available community resources, vision screening, while helpful, is not a substitute for a comprehensive eye exam.

Early Learning Programs Continued Elementary Schools (K-4)Garlough Environmental Magnet, Mendota, Moreland Arts & Health Sciences Magnet, Pilot Knob STEM Magnet and SomersetThe district’s five elementary schools - two neighborhoodschools and three magnet schools - serve students in grades K-4. Schools range in size from 270-400 students and offer awell-defined,comprehensiveandinclusivecurriculum.

The mission of district elementary schools is to “improve student achievement through the development of quality curriculum and the support of effective instruction.”

The basic skills in reading, oral and written communication, mathematics, science and social studies are stressed throughout the elementary grades. Activities of the individual classroom teacher are supplemented, based on the school, with specialized staff in music, Spanish, physical education, art and media instruction. In addition, each elementary has its own school counselor who teaches students essential skills for social and academic success.

Middle Schools (5-8)Friendly Hills and Heritage E-STEM MagnetThe district’s two middle schools serve students in grades 5-8. Generally, elementary students attending Mendota and Pilot Knob feed into Friendly Hills, and students from Moreland and Somerset attend Heritage. For Garlough students, it depends on where they reside.

Both schools capitalize on the natural curiosity of young adolescents. Students continue to delve into the core subjects while also exploring new disciplines such as world language, technology education, and family and consumer science. Students also have the option of taking band or orchestra. Schedules allow advanced students to take higher level classes in the subject in which they excel (e.g. high school geometry). Additional elective courses and co-curricular activities are offered for students at both Friendly Hills and Heritage.

Middle schools are organized into “houses” to best serve the intellectual and developmental needs of young adolescents in small, familiar environments. Houses are organized by grade level, both physically within the building and by subject, allowing students to study and learn in their small communities. Teachers within the houses work together to integrate thecurriculumandallow for flexibility inplanningand presenting of the material.

High School (9-12)Henry SibleyHenry Sibley is a four-year high school with a proud heritage, strong present, and promising future. Its mission is to “promote lifelong learning in a supportive and respectful environment that encourages maximum achievement for all.”

Henry Sibley offers students multiple opportunities to explore academics, activities and athletics. The comprehensive curriculum enables students to meet their academic goals while also developing their leadership, social and community responsibility objectives.

SibleyoffersavarietyoffineartsandAdvancedPlacement(AP)courses, as well as Project Lead the Way, AVID, College in the Schools (CIS), work experience and mentorship programs. There are also opportunities for international travel and study. Henry Sibley’s 50+ sports and co-curricular activities enjoy an high rate of participation - from the math team to football to service clubs.

Branch Out Program (gr. 12+)The district’s Branch Out program has dedicated itself to supporting and educating youth with disabilities as they transition into adult life. The goal is to increase these students’ self-knowledge, give them access to education and job training opportunities, and to immerse them in the community.

Branch Out students have not yet met the requirements for High School graduation, but they all have an Individual Education Plan to reach this goal. Some attend classes at Dakota County Technical College and Inver Hills Community College, while others take part in job coaching work experiences at ProAct and other local businesses. Dakota County Area Learning School (gr. 9-12)The Dakota County Area Learning School (DCALS) serves district students who do not thrive in a traditional high school setting. DCALS is located at 150 East Marie Avenue in West St. Paul and is operated by District 917, which also provides services for eight other Dakota County school districts. Gifted and TalentedThe School District Gifted and Talented Program strives to provide high levels of engagement and ongoing opportunities for enrichment and acceleration. It is our commitment to value high achievement and foster the high performance of our Gifted and Talented population. Special ProgramsThe Special Programs department is committed to helping each child reach his or her full potential. For information on any of the following programs, call 651-403-7011.

Special EducationSpecial Education is specially designed instruction based on each student’s needs. As required by law, the district provides a free, appropriate public education to approximately 800 students with disabilities from birth through age 21 who attend both public and private schools.

The district provides a variety of services so students may receive an education in the least restrictive environment. Some students receive support from Special Education in their general education classroom, while others participate in a separate Special Education program for most of the day. An educational team develops, implements and reviews each student’s individualized program in cooperation with a student’s parents/guardians. Testing and AssessmentThe primary purpose of testing in School District 197 is to provide information to help improve instruction. The data received from testing helps the district analyze student progress and district curriculum. It also helps identify which programs will be most helpful for each student, and holds the district accountable for offering the best possible education.In addition to statewide assessment data, District 197 also uses data from a variety of national tests, such as NWEA’s Measures of Academic Progress (MAP), Advanced Placement (AP), ACT, SAT, PSAT, EXPLORE, and PLAN. English as a Second Language (ESL) The English as a Second Language Program offers English language instruction as well as academic support in reading and writing to 400 students representing 37 languages of the world. English as a Second Language (ESL) is available at all West St. Paul - Mendota Heights - Eagan Area Schools. Instruction is provided in small groups as well as through supported instruction in the regular classroom. Our goal is to make sure English Language Learners have the skills they need to succeed in school. Contact the student’s building principal for more information.

Extended Day Opportunities - Targeted ServicesTargeted Services are before and after school programs for students in middle and elementary school who need additional academic assistance. Targeted Services funding is provided by the State and allows districts to support extended day learning opportunities by hiring licensed teachers and providing transportation to participating students.

Extra-Curricular ActivitiesStudents in middle and high school may enhance their school experience by participating in a variety of sports and activities.

Health ServicesThe mission of the Health Services Program is to facilitate and strengthen the educational process by promoting, improving and protecting the health status of students. The district has a full-time nurse supervisor with health paraprofessionals and/or licensed school nurses (LSN) on duty in each school’s health office. In addition to assisting with daily medicalinquiries, the program also provides emergency care, annual vision/hearing screenings, and classroom instruction on health issues.

Special Note About Student Health RecordsSchool District 197 protects the privacy rights of students as provided by federal law and state statutes. A student’s health recordsareclassifiedasprivatedataandaredistributedonlyto parties with a legitimate educational interest on a need-to-know basis. The district requires written consent from parents/guardians to release all or part of a student’s health record to other school personnel. If written informed consent has not been secured, health information will be shared only when it is in the best interest of the student’s health, safety and education.

Buildings & Grounds/Health & SafetyDistrict 197 is committed to providing its students and staff with a safe, clean and comfortable environment. The department’s scope of responsibilities include management of new construction, building renovations and maintenance and operating mechanical systems for the district’s eight school buildings and transportation facility. Other areas of responsibilities include Health and Safety management, which includes OSHA compliance, indoor air quality, asbestos managementandfire/securitysystems.

Indoor Air QualitySchool District 197 has an Indoor Air Quality Team responsible for ensuring that students and staff enjoy an appropriate learning environment. The team is led by Mark Fenton, Facilities Manager: 651-403-7325.

Pesticide UseMinnesota State requires schools to inform parents and guardians if it applies certain pesticides on school property.Specifically,thislawrequiresschoolsthatapplythesepesticidesto maintain an estimated schedule of pesticide applications and to make the schedule available to parents and guardians forrevieworcopyingateachschooloffice.Tobenotifiedofpesticide use in District 197, see the form on the next page.

TransportationDistrict197ownsandoperatesabusfleetofnearly60busesfor transporting students safely to and from school. District guidelines provide for students to be transported as follows:

•Elementary school students (grades K-4) who live more than 0.75 mile from school.

•Middle school students (grades 5-8) who live more than one mile from school.

•High school students (grades 9-12) who live more than two miles from school.

All eligible students who reside within School District 197 and plan to ride a bus MUST REGISTER for service before August 1 of each year. The district can optimize school bus route planning if it knows which students will actually ride the bus. Students WILL NOT be listed for service unless the transportation department receives a registration form. Forms received after August 1 will be put on hold and studentsmaynothavebusservice for thefirst twoweeksof school. Student transportation requests received after the first twoweeksof schoolwill beprocessedwithin2-3business days. Please only register for service when you are sure your child will be riding a bus. Complete one form per child.FormsareavailableattheDistrictOffice,TransportationOffice, on the District 197 website at www.isd197.org/services/transportation or by calling 651-403-8320.

For 2013-14 School District 197 is expanding its fee-based transportation option to all students in grades K-12 who live within district walk boundaries. Students may still walk to school, however now they have a choice to ride a bus for the full school year or seasonally (November 15-April 15) for a fee.

Families receiving free or reduced-price services can request this service and receive a 50% fee waiver ($117 per year per student or $58 per student seasonal, family cap of $235). Learn more at www.isd197.org/services/transportation.

Student Transportation Safety PolicyThe District 197 School Board Policy 709: Student Transportation Safety Policy covers transportation safety training, conduct and consequences for misbehavior, bus driver training, operating rules and procedures, vehicle maintenance standards, school transportation safety director, and student transportation safety committee. This policy is availableonthedistrict’swebsite,ateachschoolofficeorbycontacting the transportation department at 651-403-8320. The following bus and bus stop rules should be followed by all riders and reinforced by parents/guardians.

Rules at the Bus Stop•Get to your bus stop 5 minutes before your scheduled

pick up. The school bus driver will not wait for students.•Respect the property of others while waiting at your stop.•Keep your arms, legs, and belongings to yourself.•Use appropriate language.•Stay away from the street, road, or highway.•Wait until the bus stops before approaching the bus.•After getting off the bus, move away from the bus.• If you must cross the street, always cross in front of the

bus where the driver can see you. Wait for the driver to signal to you before crossing the street.

Dear Parents/Guardians: A Minnesota State law went into effect in year 2000 that requires schools to inform parents and guardians if they apply certain pesticides on school property. Specifically, this law requires schools that apply these pesticides to maintain an estimated schedule of pesticide applications and to make the schedule available to parents and guardians for review or copying at each school office. State law also requires that you be told that the long-term health effects on children from the application of such pesticides or the class of chemicals to which they belong may not be fully understood. If you would like to be notified prior to pesticide applications made on days other than those specified in the estimated schedule (excluding emergency applications), please complete and return the form below. Buildings and Grounds/Health & Safety Cont’dAnnual AHERA NotificationThe Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) requires that each district notify workers and building occupants annually regarding asbestos-related activities. Until the late seventies, asbestos was commonly used in commercial and residentialbuildingmaterials,suchasfloortile,fireproofingspray,and thermal system insulation used on pipes, tanks, and boilers.

In the fall of 1988, all of our school buildings were inspected for asbestos-containing materials according to AHERA protocol, using accredited inspectors. Based on the inspection results, management plans were developed for each school where asbestoswasfound.Theseplansareonfileandavailable forreviewbycontactingtheprincipal’soffice.

AHERA also requires that we conduct periodic surveillance inspections every six months to evaluate the condition of asbestos-containing materials and completely re-inspect our buildings every three years. This is done to verify that these materials are maintained in a safe condition.

The Environmental Protection Agency and the Minnesota Department of Education recommend that asbestos-containing materials in good condition be maintained in-place whenever possible. Therefore, the district has limited its asbestos removal to areas where renovation or maintenance activities are planned.

Each student will have their own personal account in which they can place money for purchases. Payment to accounts may be made to a student’s individual school with a personal check or cash only. Personal checks (payable to District 197 Child Nutrition) or cash amounts may also be sent directly totheDistrictChildNutritionOfficeforindividualormultiplestudents with a noted designation of how the money is to bedivided.TheChildNutritionOfficeisabletoplacemoneyin a student’s account for all schools. Each student’s Full Name and PIN or Student ID Number must be written on all personal checks or envelopes containing cash.

All students may use the money in their accounts to purchase individual cartons of milk and additional entrees or side dishes. Middle and High School students may also purchase snacks using their meal accounts. Parents may designate funds so that only the school breakfast and lunch may be purchased. Parents are able to make this choice when making a payment on the MyPaymentsPlus website or by contacting their school’s Child Nutrition representative.

Elementary students will be allowed to charge up to the cost of two meals and Middle and High School students up to the cost of one meal during the school year until mid May, at which time no charging will be permitted. Students at the meal charge limit will be given a peanut butter sandwich and milk until adequate funds are deposited into their account.

Account balances are available by contacting the Child Nutrition representative at their child’s school or by setting up an account with MyPaymentsPlus. Parents do not need to deposit money through MyPaymentsPlus in order to have an accountandcanstillenjoythebenefitsofviewingpurchasehistoryandlowbalancenotification.

TechnologyThe commitment by our community to support technology has madeabigdifferenceinDistrict197.Ourschoolsareoutfittedwith state-of-the-art educational technology providing them the opportunities to integrate digital tools into everyday learning.

Learning with technology is no longer bound to a computer lab. Teachers use laptops, iPads, iPods and interactive whiteboards to improve classroom instruction, spark students’ imaginations and provide for a more engaged learning environment.

LIVEGREEN Sustainability ProgramLIVEGREEN is the district’s sustainability program that promotes energy saving and recycling initiatives. LIVEGREEN teams in every building help implement low-cost/no-cost efficiencystrategies to reduce ever-increasing energy costs, promote recycling and composting and focus on conserving resources.

Through this program, every school in the district has earned “Energy Star” status from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy.

To apply for free or reduced-price school meals complete and submit an Application for Educational Benefits available onthe following pages. MyPaymentsPlus allows parents to make online payments for their child’s meal account. It also enables parents to make payments by phone. At any time, parents may view their child’s account balance, check payments made through MyPaymentsPlus, and look at purchase history for the previous 30days.E-mailconfirmationsofpaymentsand lowbalancereminders are automatically sent to parents.

Payments can be made quickly and easily using a credit card or check. Wallet and Auto-Replenish features allow parents to set a low balance amount that will automatically replenish their child’saccountwhenitreachesaspecifiedbalance.Parentsneed not make deposits via MyPaymentsPlus in order to register an account andenjoy thebenefits of receiving low-balance reminders and viewing student purchase history.

MyPaymentsPlus accepts MasterCard and VISA credit cards; or you may pay by electronic debit from your checking or savings account by providing account and routing numbers.

Two ways to make a credit card deposit:

• Link to the MyPaymentsPlus website from the district’s website (www.isd197.org/services/childnutrition) or go directly to www.mypaymentsplus.com to register an account for your child(ren), and begin making payments.

• Call the MyPaymentsPlus Automated Hotline at 1-877-237-0946 and follow the prompts to register and begin making payments. Credit card payments can not be processed over the phone by calling the ChildNutritionOffice.

A credit will be applied to the child’s account, helping offset the fee charged for transactions. This credit, and the fee charged, will vary depending on the total amount of the transaction. A single transaction may include multiple students attending any of the district’s schools.

Putting money in your child’s meal account• Elementary school open houses

A representative of the Child Nutrition Department will be present at each elementary school’s open house held prior to the start of the school year. The representative will gladly accept payment for school meals and answer questions about the Child Nutrition program. This is a great time to put money in your child’s account to start the school year.

• Back-to-School Kick-off at Heritage and Friendly Hills, Sibley Start-up Day A representative of the Child Nutrition Department will be present during picture days to accept deposits: Henry Sibley (8/28; 10 a.m.-6 p.m.), Heritage (8/28; Noon-6 p.m.), and Friendly Hills (8/29; 3-7 p.m.).

• Mail/Dropoff:TheDistrictChildNutritionOffice is located at Henry Sibley High School. You may drop off payments in person this summer and are also welcome to mail payments to: School District 197 Child Nutrition, 1897 Delaware Ave, Mendota Heights, MN 55118.

Healthy Snacks

Low sugar and low fat snacks help promote lifelong healthy eating habits for children. Fresh fruits and vegetables are high in vitamins, minerals, and fiber and make excellentsnacks. Children should get five or more servings of fruitsand vegetables each day and snack time is a great time to fitthemin.Sendadifferentfruitorvegetablesnackeverydayto encourage them to try new items. Many of these are also available on the school lunch line every day!

Protection and Privacy of Pupil Educational Records*Parents/guardians of a School District 197 student and eligible students (18 years or older), have the right under federal and state laws to review their student’s educational and health records.

Parents have the right to require an amendment to student records to ensure they are not inaccurate, misleading or otherwise in violation of the student’s privacy or other rights. They have the right to direct the district not to divulge to the public certain “directory information” relating to the student – including name, telephone number, e-mail address, date and place of birth, date of attendance, enrollment status, and previous educational institutions attended. They may also request that the name(s) and phone numbers of parents be withheld.

Requests for non-disclosure must be made in writing and received by the district by Oct. 1. (Requests should be sent toKathyMutch,Superintendent’sOffice,1897DelawareAve,Mendota Heights, MN 55118.) Note that a request is effective for only one school year. Parents also have the right to consent in writing before the district discloses to the public any other information within the student’s educational records. However, parental consent is not required for disclosure to district staff members who have a legitimate educational interest in the student. The school district also forwards educational records upon request to a school in which a student seeks or intends to enroll.

The district’s information policies and regulations may be examinedattheDistrictOffice.Acomplaintforanyfailuretocomply with the student privacy requirementsmay be filedwith the Student and Family Education Rights and Privacy Office,U.S.DepartmentofEducation,Washington,DC20202.A complaintmust contain specific allegations of fact givingreasonable cause to believe that a violation of the federal statute or regulations has occurred.

Military Recruiter Access to Student DataMinnesota Law states that a secondary institution shall release tomilitaryrecruitingofficersthenames,addressesandhometelephone numbers of students in grade 11 and 12 within 60 days after the request, except as otherwise provided. Parents/guardians and eligible students (18 years or older) have the right to request that their student’s data not be released to the military. To request non-disclosure to the military, parents

need to contact the Henry Sibley High School principal by Oct. 1 each year.

Data released to military recruiters under this subdivision:

(1) may be used only for the purpose of providing information to students about military service, state and federal veterans’ education benefits, and other career and educationalopportunities provided by the military; and (2) shall not be further disseminated to any other person except personnel of the recruiting services or the armed forces.

Note that a request for non-disclosure to the media only pertains to the school district’s release of such data. Military recruiters may have additional means of collecting student contact information and thus students may still be contacted by a recruiter.

Internet and Electronic Resources UseThe ability to use technology tools and conduct electronic information research skills are now fundamental to preparation of citizens and future employees. Access to the school district technology system and to the Internet enables students and employees to explore thousands of libraries, databases, bulletin boards, and other resources while exchanging messages with people around the world. The school district expects that faculty will blend thoughtful use of the school district technology system and the Internet throughout the curriculum and will provide guidance and instruction to students in their use.

The Internet and Electronic Resources Acceptable Use and SafetyPolicy(524)definesacceptablestudentandemployeeuse of the school district technology system, provides guidelines for use of personal devices within the district and sets forth policies establishing acceptable and safe use of the Internet and web 2.0 tools, including electronic communications. The policy covers uses of the school district technology system and Internet resources or accounts on or off district property and/or personal electronic resources while at work or on district property and/or the district system.

At the start of each year, all parents/guardians and students in grades 5-12 must sign and Internet and Electronic Resources Acceptable Use Agreement. Parents/guardians with questions or concerns about the Acceptable Use Agreement should schedule a meeting with the school principal to discuss alternative learning options.

Protection of Pupil RightsThe Protection of Pupil Rights Amendment (PPRA), 20 U.S.C. § 1232h, requires School District 197 to notify parents/guardians and allow them to opt their child out of participating in certain school activities. These activities include a student survey, analysis, or evaluation that concerns one or more of the following eight areas (“protected information surveys”):

1. Politicalaffiliationsorbeliefsofthestudentorstudent’sparent;2. Mental or psychological problems of the student or student’s family;3. Sexual behavior or attitudes;4. Illegal, anti-social, self-incriminating, or demeaning behavior;5. Critical appraisals of others with whom respondents have close family relationships;6. Legally recognized privileged relationships, such as with lawyers, doctors, or ministers;7. Religiouspractices,affiliations,orbeliefsofthestudentorparents;or8. Income, other than as required by law to determine program eligibility.

This requirement also applies to the collection, disclosure or use of student information for marketing purposes (“marketing surveys”), and certain physical exams and screenings.

At this time, there are no such activities scheduled for the 2013-14 school year. Should any surveys and activities be scheduled after the school year starts, School District 197 will provide parents, within a reasonable period of time prior to the administration ofthesurveysandactivities,notificationofthesurveysandactivitiesandbeprovidedanopportunitytoopttheirchildout,aswell as an opportunity to review the surveys. (Please note that this notice and opt-out transfers from parents to any student who is 18 years old or an emancipated minor under State law.)

Bullying Prohibition Policy

A safe and civil environment is needed for students to learn and attain high academic standards and to promote healthy human relationships. Bullying, like other violent or disruptive behavior, is conduct that interferes with students’ ability to learn and teachers’ ability to educate students in a safe environment. The school district cannot monitor the activities of students at all times and eliminate all incidents of bullying between students, particularly when students are not under the direct supervision of school personnel.

However, to the extent such conduct affects the educational environment of the school district and the rights and welfare of its students and is within the control of the school district in its normal operations, it is the school district’s intent to prevent bullying and to take action to investigate, respond, remediate, and discipline those acts of bullying which have not been successfully prevented. The purpose of this policy is to assist the school district in its goal of preventing and responding to acts of bullying, intimidation, violence, and other similar disruptive behavior.

Community EducationTriDistrict Community Education

School District 197 is committed to lifelong learning. Because of this commitment, District 197 has partnered with South St. Paul Schools and Inver Grove Heights Community Schools to offer TriDistrict Community Education, a program that provides classes, services and events that engage learners of all ages from birth through older adults in a wide range of diverse learning opportunities. More information about these opportunities can be found on the following pages.

Criminal Background ChecksIn accordance with MN Statute 123B.03, District 197 will conduct a criminal background check on all newly hired em-ployees, overnight field trip volunteers, volunteer coaches,extra-curricular academic volunteers not under the direct su-pervision of another staff member, and private music instruc-tors operating on school district property. Any of the above individuals who have had an authorized criminal background check conducted within the last 12 months by another Minne-sota school district or the Minnesota Department of Education may be exempt from this requirement. NondiscriminationThe West St. Paul - Mendota Heights - Eagan Area School Board complies with federal and state laws and regulations prohibiting discrimination and harassment. No person shall, on the grounds of race, color, national origin, creed, religion, sex, marital status, status with regard to public assistance, sexual preference, age or disability, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be otherwise subjected todiscrimination under any educational program or in any terms or conditions of employment. The district’s harassment and violence policy (Policy 413) is available online or from the Human Resources Department.

Emergency Closing InformationIn the event of an emergency or severe weather, school clos-ing or delays will be posted online at www.isd197.org. They will also be announced on local television and radio stations. The district will also notify families by phone and e-mail via the district’sparentnotificationsystem.(Toensureproperdeliveryofsuchnotifications,pleasebesureyourchild’sschoolhasyourcurrentcontactinformationonfile.)

The decision to dismiss schools early once they have begun for the day will be made only in the most extreme emergency. Non-public schools in District 197 generally close when the publicschoolsclose,althoughthefinaldecisionisuptoeachindividual non-public school. All other student and public ac-tivities are usually canceled when schools are closed.

Elementary Programs (Extra Innings & SAC Attack)SAC offers safe and engaging childcare for elementary school students before and after school and on non-school days (Extra-Innings) as well as in the summer (SAC Attack). Social and educational activities, skills development, service learning, and recreation are all a part of the program. The elementary programs are conveniently located in District 197 elementary schools.

Middle School Program (Encore)SAC provides a safe and caring place for middle school students before and after school and on non-school days (Encore) as well as during the summer (SAC Storm). Quality time is devoted to experiential learning, homework help, service learning, recreation, social skill development, leadership development and team-building activities. The middle school programs take place at various locations within District 197.

Youth EnrichmentYouth enrichment offers activities for students in grades K-12 in the areas of academics, arts/crafts, sports and recreation, music and theater, and special interests.
