W O W School Board of Broward County Internship Program WORK OPPORTUNITIES WITHIN (WOW) WOW is a Broward County School Board total immersion non-paid internship transition program. WOW provides transition services that develop employability skills, potentially leading to employment opportunities for students with disabilities ages 17-21. Students work and learn vocational and social skills in various departments with School Board personnel as mentors. A certified teacher and job coach are on site to instruct, supervise and support the students. Student entrance criteria: Students must be between the ages of 17 and 21. Students must have completed credit/graduation requirements (with the exception of some elective credits) or are deferring receipt of their diploma. The Transition Individualized Education Plan must prescribe special education services in the area of employment/career development and related services through age 21. Desire to work competitively. Ability to independently navigate the community. Located at Ft. Lauderdale and Blanche Ely.
