    The Scholarship Center

New Office Under Construction While the Scholarship Center is temporarily located in room 1D10, the actual center is currently being built upstairs in the 4D area. The move will hopefully occur at the beginning of next semester.

These are the plans for the center and what it will look

The Second Annual Scholar Reception 4th On Thursday, October the

Merit Scholars Program held its second Reception to welcome the scholars. At the reception we had many guess speakers. Including Doctor Linda Michelle Baron (Picture on the right) who read her famous poem “You are just too much.” This poem touched many people at the reception and afterwards she signed posters of her poem that she gave the scholars as a gift.

Hitting the Books: Tutoring and Study Groups

As a Merit Scholar you are required to keep a 3.25 GPA. There are people who will help the Scholars with their studies and advise them on future options for their major. Being a Scholar is not about competing against each other for more scholarships but rather helping each other succeed. During these times we don’t just build up our GPA we build friendships.

    like when it’s finished.

First in Line for the spring: Advisement and Early Registration for the Scholars

As Merit Scholars, students have the opportunity to register before the rest of the college. This is an important advantage because students are given first choice of classes as soon as they open. Early Registration for the 2008 Spring and Winter Semesters will begin on November 19.
