The graduating class will begin their march-in at approximately 9:35 a.m. For photos immediately following the ceremony, it is best to identify a meeting location for your graduate, family and guests. Hat Toss Children ages 4-10, 42-54" tall can participate in the Hat Toss at the end of the graduation ceremony. The children (and adult escort) will be asked to join groups as assigned. Groups will be broken down by age (4-5, 6-7 and 8-10 years of age). Each child is allowed one hat. The conditions for the Hat Toss will be very controlled for safety reasons. Parents or guardians will remain on the field in the appropriate area. Parent or guardian must be 18 years of age. Groups will run for the hats as directed by the staff/cadets managing the area, allowing the young- er children a head start. Post Graduation shuttle buses will be available to transport guests to central post area for commissioning ceremonies. Buses will run con- tinuously from the Superintendents Review Box to the various park- ing areas through the end of the day.

Parking - Wednesday - Friday – Lots A - F (in the vicinity of Michie Stadium), Buffalo Soldier Field or as directed, are designated parking areas for graduation week activities. Visitors are encouraged to use shuttle buses as parking in central post is very limited.

Shuttle buses will circulate around West Point Wednesday through Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. -11 p.m. Buses will depart from “A” Lot, Buffalo Soldier Field, and other desig-nated areas. Additional stops are added on Wednesday evening for the Baccalaureate services and on Friday for the banquet. The Post Shuttle (as indicated by a sign) is another option for traveling from Buffalo Soldier Field to the Cadet area and around post. The Post Shuttle runs 7 a.m.-6 p.m Monday-Friday.

Buses for the Superintendent’s Receptions on Wednesday, May 22 and Thursday, May 23 will run directly (express service) to Quar-ters 100 (or Ike Hall if impacted by weather) from the parking lots near Michie Stadium and Buffalo Soldier Field, 12 - 5 p.m.

SHUTTLE BUS STOPS AND GRADUATION DAY ROUTES

Graduation Day Shuttle Service Shuttles buses will run 6 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Handicapped Shuttle – Park in Clinton Lot (near the Plain, Daly Field area). Buses will pick up near Johnson Stadium (please wait on the sidewalk near the glass doors). Guests will be dropped off at Gate 7 or the entrance to the Kimsey Center for handicapped accessible seating. Buses will return guests to the same location following the ceremony. Pick-up & Drop-off Locations Red Route: (PX/Commissary), Drop-off at “A” Lot with access through Gates 5/6 of Michie Stadium. Following the ceremony shuttle returns to PX/Commissary lot. Green Route: (South end of West Point) Buffalo Soldier Field (Post Of-fice), South Dock, Drop-off near Herbert Alumni Center/Truxtun Lacrosse Building - short walk to Michie Stadium. Blue Route: (North end of West Point) - Prior to the ceremony - North Dock (RV Parking), Thayer Statue, Clinton Lot, “K” Lot (near Subway) then on to “A” Lot for drop off. Enter via Gate 5/6 for the ceremony. Post ceremony – Pick up at “A” Lot to Thayer Extension (Clinton Lot/Daly Field), “K” Lot, North Dock, Ike Hall and other stops around post.

Security Message West Point is operating under a heightened security posture. All visitors must enter through Thayer or Stony Lonesome gates only and should expect minor delays. All persons 17 and older are required to show the security guards at the gates a valid, gov’t issued photo ID and must keep the ID in their possession at all times. All vehicles entering the installation are subject to being searched, this includes those with DoD decals. Visitors planning to attend events associ-ated with grad week are strongly encouraged to use the shuttle bus system as parking is limited. On graduation day all visitors must pass through additional security measures prior to entering Michie Stadium. Please arrive early. The following items will not be allowed into the stadium: large bags, backpacks, coolers, umbrellas & no glass containers. Water bottles & baby bottles are allowed. Please plan accordingly. As guests at West Point we ask for your vigilance. Your help in the detection and reporting of criminal activities will help ensure that this year’s graduation is a success. Anyone observing suspicious behavior or activity is urged to promptly report it to the Military Police at the number below.
