Pickleball/badminton CampsThis mini-tennis game is a combination of ping pong, tennis and badminton. This competitive game for experienced players uses wood and graphite paddles and unique plastic balls. It is easy to learn, provides plenty of exercise and played on a badminton court. You don’t have to be strong, quick, athletic or good at other sports. This game is not about power, but shot placement and accuracy. Professional soccer AcademyLearn the ins and outs of soccer from Professional Soccer Academy instructors, former professional soccer players and college athletes. All facets of soccer including dribbling, passing, receiving, shooting and defense are worked on throughout the week. Campers receive a T-shirt, water bottle and soccer bag. The last day of camp is spent at the Fun Zone at Soccer City Indoor Arenas. Each camper experiences an inflatable obstacle course, 20-foot slide and the Jumper. Activities include Soccer Olympics and a water fight (weather permitting). schaumburg saxon football CampCamp focuses on football fundamentals in a non-contact format. Em-phasizing individual skills and the mechanics of team play, participants are exposed to the system utilized by the Schaumburg High School football program. schaumburg saxon lacrosse CampLearn fundamental techniques and skills necessary to be a successful lacrosse player. Basic skills will be emphasized and range from ground balls, passing and throwing to stick skills, one-on-one skills and team format. Campers must bring a stick and gloves. skyhawks flag football CampThis camp introduces the core skills of passing, catching and de-flagging/defensive positioning. Participants can showcase their skills at the Sky-hawks Sports Bowl. skyhawks golf Camp Golf is a challenging and lifelong sport, so young athletes need proper focus on the fundamentals of form, swinging, putting and body position-ing. To assist in this training, Skyhawks has adopted the SNAG (Starting New At Golf) system to its curriculum. SNAG utilizes a set of equipment designed for beginning golfers including oversized plastic club heads and ‘mini tennis balls’ to help build confidence and have fun. Developed by PGA professionals, SNAG is specifically designed for the entry-level player. All equipment is provided. skyhawks skateboarding CampBeginners receive basic skateboarding instruction with an emphasis on balance, pushing the board, kick-turns, maneuvering and manual. skyhawks track & field CampUsing special equipment, Skyhawks staff teaches the standard track and field events including long distance, sprints, soft hurdles, relays, shot put, discus and standing long-jump. The exercises and drills prepare athletes for cross country, track and field, and distance running. Body positioning, stride, proper stretching and cool-down techniques are covered. skyhawks t-ball leagueSkyhawks T-Ball is designed for young athletes to discover the excite-ment of competition while learning the basics of baseball. The first week of the program will consist of two training sessions to introduce the participants to the program. During this time, the coaching staff will be evaluating the participants so that teams may be created equally. The participants will be separated into teams for the first team practice and given a Skyhawks T-shirt to use as their uniforms. Chicago White sox baseball summer CampsThe beginner camp is open to boys and girls ages 5 and 6 and is de-signed as an introduction to baseball. The intermediate camp for ages 7 and 8 includes fundamental skills work on throwing, hitting, bunting, fielding, pitching and base-running. Fundamentals will be reinforced by playing fun skill games. The White Sox camp for ages 9-12 builds upon the basics to advance your game to the next level. Depending on the skill level of the players, this camp will touch on advanced hitting and throwing techniques, team play, advanced base running and other tech-niques that may be used on the field. Players will get the opportunity to judge their improvement by playing a game on the final day. Schaumburg Park District is seeking enthusiastic 13 to 15-year-olds who want to become leaders and potential staff members. Applicants must be 13 years old by Sept. 1, 2013.This fun experience is a great way to introduce the concept of employment responsibilities to teens. There will be a required fee of $20/$30 for the Junior Leader program. The fee is payable when registering for a Junior Leader interview or a returning Junior Leader information night.

8 or 9. Detailed information will be included with the Junior Leader paperwork. The $20/$30 registration fee for the interview is a required fee for all Junior Leader participants.

returning Junior LeadersIf you are interested in returning to the Junior Leader program, there is no need to re-apply. If you do not receive a letter by March 1, contact the Pat Shephard Center at 847/490-7036. Returning leaders must register online for one of the information nights on April 2, 8 and 9 and the mandatory kick-off meeting on June 8. The $20/$30 registration fee for information night is a required fee for all 2013 Junior Leader participants.
