SCARBOROUGH CARP CHAPTER 29 HOLDS TRAVEL AND LEISURE EVENT On Thursday, March 27, the Scarborough CARP Chapter held a Travel and Leisure Event entitled "Vacations and Staycations". This Event, sponsored by Sun Life Financial, was attended by over 140 people from Scarborough, Toronto, Markham and even from the Haliburton area. In the travel spotlight were Sun Life, Sell-Off Vacations, the Travel Industry Council of Ontario and other groups, who offered tips for travel, health and safety while travelling, and having proper insurance when vacationing. Leisure activity organizations included ROMWalks, the Scarborough Horticultural Society, Volunteer Toronto/SAVA and Theatre Scarborough. Attendees were treated to live music from the 3-piece band "Blue Road", timely income tax tips offered by Italian Canadian Assistance Inc., and there was an Information Table filled with travel tips, local organizational info and hobby lists. In a separate (filled to capacity) activity room, participation demos were given by Ryerson Theatre, Taoist Tai Chi, and Zumba Gold®. The Event concluded with a 50-50 draw and a chance to win door prizes. Those who attended the Event were pleased with the variety of offerings, information and assistance available!
