The Port of Tacoma Commission offers you congratulations on your 55 years of leadership and volunteer work with the Tacoma Sea Scouts.

As you know, when the Port celebrated our centennial year in 2018 our theme was “Our Ties Run Deep.” Like our Port, your ties run deep with the Tacoma Sea Scouts and the youth of our community. Your ties to the Tacoma Sea Scouts span more than half a century. During that time, your name has become synonymous with the Sea Scouts program— a program that you have helped nurture and expand into the successful enterprise it is today.

Your efforts have helped educate hundreds and hundreds of youth over the years. Not only have you taught youth the skills to help them handle the challenges of ships and the sea, the Sea Scouts program has given them leadership skills to help them successfully navigate the challenges and opportunities they will face in their future lives and careers—on sea or dry land.

The Port of Tacoma Commission applauds you for your fine work in mentoring hundreds of youth through the Sea Scouts program over the years. We hope you can continue working with the Sea Scouts in the future.

We thank you for your exemplary leadership and spirit of service. Your work is an inspiring example of how one man can truly make a difference in our community. May you have fair winds and following seas in the years ahead.
