ABOUT THE LADY OWLSOregon Tech (27-8) (13-3) came into the season picked second in the Cascade

Collegiate Conference preseason coaches’ poll. Halfway through the conference sched-ule they lead the league standings and are ranked No. 17 in the country. Before thelosses at Southern Oregon, Tech had gone 18-1 in its last 19 games, including 11 winsin a row. The Owls are in the top 20 in the NAIA in six statistical categories. AshleighLarson’s 51 total RBI is fifth in the nation.

LAST TIME OUTThe Eastern Oregon University softball outscored Walla Walla University, 15-0,

in a doubleheader sweep Sunday, 6-0 and 9-0. McDonnell (3-14) had an outstandingday on the mound for EOU. The sophomore tossed a two-hitter through seven innings.She allowed a hit in the second and sixth innings. McDonnell struck out five WWU bat-ters, and walked three others in the shutout. Veronica Rojas led off the second game forthe Wolves with a single up the middle. It would be the lone hit allowed by theMountaineers' Jessy Reynolds. The freshman picked up her first win of her collegiatecareer. She allowed one hit and no runs through seven innings. The Union, Ore. nativestruck out two batters and walked a pair. EOU improved to 36-1 against Walla Wallasince 2001.

ABOUT THE RAIDERSSouthern Oregon (12-15) (9-7) enters the weekend battling for the fourth and

final position in the Cascade Confernce playoffs. The Raiders and Corban are even at9-7 in the fourth spot in the league standings. Jessica Flores has only walked five bat-ters this season, which is 13th in the NAIA. SOU ended a four-game losing streak with astunning sweep over No. 17 Oregon Tech at home. Flores has only allowed 23 runs and45 hits on the mound, both are second in the conference.

EASTERN HAS WEEKEND CHANGESThe Cascade Collegiate Conference announced

changes to Eastern Oregon University's softball schedule thisweekend Wednesday. The Mountaineers were scheduled toplay at Oregon Tech and Southern Oregon Friday andSaturday, but after poor weather conditions were forecastedfor Friday, the games were pushed back a day. Eastern willnow face Oregon Tech Saturday at 11 a.m. in Klamath Fallsand Southern Oregon Sunday at 11 a.m. in Ashland.
