SunExpress is owned by Turkish Airlines and Lufthansa. The airline was established in 1989 and started operations with a charter service between Antalya Airport and Frankfurt in 1990. Today, SunExpress uses a fleet of narrow-body Boeing aircraft to operate a network of scheduled and charter services connecting Turkey with Europe.
