“Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one
body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the message of
Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another
with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit,
singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. And whatever you do,
whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving
thanks to God the Father through him. Colossians 3: 15-17
As we move into the move into the month of November, we celebrate
the Holiday of Thanksgiving. I thought the passage from the book of
Colossians was appropriate. In Paul’s letter to the Colossians, he warns
against false teachers and encourages them to be fruitful in the pure
faith, and to be thankful in prayer and in action in whatever we do. In
fact, he mentions thankfulness three times in this passage.
With that as a backdrop, I want to take this time to be thankful to God
our Father for all the blessings at Saxony Lutheran High School.
I am thankful that God has blessed this school with an outstanding
faculty that sets high expectations for our students and works hard to
help them achieve their goals while keeping the focus on Christ.
I am thankful for our office, kitchen, and maintenance staff who go
above and beyond in serving our school and with students and staff
and the ownership they take in this school.
I am thankful for a Christ centered Counselor, Development Director,
Athletic Director, coaches, and sponsors who work to ensure our stu-
dents have a variety of experiences inside and outside of the class-
room.
I am thankful for our parents, grandparents, supporters, and volun-
teers who support out school. Not only financially, but also with pray-
er as well so we can be successful in our mission of “Sharing Christ…
Shaping Lives.”
Finally, I am thankful that god has blessed this school with outstanding
students that I look forward to working with every day.
Our school is truly blessed and I am thankful to our Heavenly Father
and sign His praises for all that He has done for Saxony Lutheran High
School.
In His Service,
Mark Ruark
