It starts by showing the production company's logo which is “Lionsgate”. The reason for doing This is so that people know they were the ones who made the film and improves brand Awareness.

Page 4: Saw

The films genre is horror this is made evident in the early clips in the trailer where we see horrific things.The way in which I can tell it is a horror as there is genre specific codes and conventions such as“a bad guy”. Also typically associate is the mask the bad guy wears to protect their identity. TheIconography shows people who are the victims as ragged and stressed so this would be successfulThe title appears at the end. There is no voice over as the voice narrating the story is diegetic asIt is him speaking to characters.

It shows numerous horrific scenes and this is because this is what the person does. There are no Significant characters except from Saw himself. The narrative in the trailer isn't linear it isn't in A chronological order… We are told about the characters and the plot through what we are being shown in the clips

Editing is used to create action and suspense with the quick crosscutting between shots linked With the music. Camera angles are completely varied in the trailer. There are no key characters However near enough every character is represented as vulnerable. The main colours used are Black, Dark green and red these are all colours commonly associated with the horror genre.

There is non diegetic sound throughout the trailer of the soundtrack however there is also theDiegetic sound of the characters in pain, being scared etc. There is also a voiceover which isn'tMade clear if you haven't watched the old films as it is “saw” however most people watching thisFilm would have seen the previous films.
