Dear Friends;
As the Executive Director of SavingTeens, I am pleased to share that SavingTeens continues to grow as we strive to provide scholarships and support to families with struggling teens. It is our pleasure to report that 2015 has been a transformative year for SavingTeens, our partners, and the families whom we support.
In 2015, we were able to connect twelve families with positive interven-tions for their teens. This effort was made possible because of the expert referral of our SavingTeens Ambassador Educational Consultants. Work-ing in concert with therapeutic programs and services we were able to offer the best possible scholarships to these families in need. It truly takes the whole therapeutic care community to help these families. We couldn’t do it without our amazing team of partners.
New volunteers have helped spread the word about SavingTeens’ work. Regional events in Seattle and Los Angeles helped us raise funds and awareness in these communities. More and more people are learning about the need for affordable access to appropriate services for our most at-risk young people. And, with their new awareness comes opportunities for helping additional families. Our impact is growing due to the work of our dedicated volunteers.
We hope that the work of SavingTeens continues to resonate with you. We hope that you continue to see the need to help young people who are struggling. And, we hope that you continue to raise your voice to support families as they work to help their children.
Finally, we hope that, with your help, SavingTeens continues to serve young people as they work towards wellness.
Thanks again,
Carrie P. Weatherhead; LCSW Executive Director of SavingTeens

Measures of Success
SavingTeens is proud to report the following accomplishments in 2015
Improving Our Process: Following a thorough operational review, SavingTeens restructured our application process in 2015. Referrals now come to SavingTeens through qualified Therapeutic Educational Consultants. Our Educational Consultants provide their services either pro-bono or at a very discounted rate. They ensure that our families are appropriate for SavingTeens services and they help our families choose the right program for their child. This new process has improved our efficiency and our percentage funded.
Funding More Families: Through the new application process and improved collaboration with professionals, we were able to fund twelve teens in 2015. By connecting SavingTeens funds with generous program scholarships we’ve been able to leverage SavingTeens money more productively than in the past. Our Program Partnerships have transformed the way we provide support to the therapeutic care industry and have helped programs fulfill the mission of supporting the most needy families.
Building Our Community: In the last year, SavingTeens has had a surge of support. Dedicated volunteers have broadened our scope into new communities. We have more than doubled our donors in 2015 and more volunteers are offering their time to our cause. We are having meaningful conversations about access to therapeutic interventions. SavingTeens is now poised to raise awareness about adolescent behavioral issues and substance abuse while helping find creative solutions to accessibility.
Goals for the Coming Year
SavingTeens has set lofty goals for the coming years.
More Funds = More Scholarships: We are setting lofty fundraising goals for 2016. Additional donors, and higher average donations will allow us to support more families. These funds will allow us to sup-port more families with greater impact. Demand for services has often exceeded available resources, challenging our Scholarship Committee who is tasked with triaging available resources. In 2016 we will strive to fund a higher percentage of applicants to increase our impact.
Building New Partners: The enhanced structure of partnerships with Educational Consultants and Therapeutic Programs and Services has improved our ability to support families in need. New partnerships bring new opportunities. We are working with more professionals willing to pledge their services to SavingTeens families. This team effort, coupled with SavingTeens funding, will help more at-risk teens access the inter-ventions their families cannot afford by themselves.
Creating a Groundswell: SavingTeens is looking at new opportuni-ties to raise awareness about the issues concerning adolescent mental health and substance abuse. We are promoting more philanthropy throughout the therapeutic care community and their families. Through volunteer driven events new communities have learned about the plight of young people struggling with significant emotional and behavioral challenges including: anxiety, depressions, addictions and other risky behaviors. Together we can create a groundswell of support for families in need.
As an individual, you can help SavingTeens by:
Donate to SavingTeens: Please consider SavingTeens in your philan-thropic plans. A gift to SavingTeens helps more at-risk young people access therapeutic schools and programs. If your gift is in honor of a loved one, it will be acknowledged to both the donor and the honoree. All gifts are tax deductible.
Plan a Fundraising Event: Run or raise money in our honor, or plan an event of your own. If you have a great idea for a fundraiser for Saving-Teens, please contact Carrie at [email protected]. We will assist by sending you promotional material and giving SavingTeens info for your event. There might already be a volunteer in you area that would love your help.
Spread the Word: Tell your friends about SavingTeens and the impor-tant work that we do. Offer to volunteer at local SavingTeens events or fundraisers. If you’d like to learn more about being an ambassador for SavingTeens please feel free to contact us.

“Before I was involved with SavingTeens I was a
completely different person. SavingTeens assisted
me in getting the help I needed by finding the right
place for me. My therapeutic boarding school helped
me with: opening up, developing my social skills,
being honest, gaining more confidence in myself,
building relationships, & talking about my feelings.
Without their help I wouldn’t be where I am today.”
-SavingTeens Recipient
Thank you from the bottom of [our] hearts. It has been
so good to cry tears of joy. Absolutely nothing can
compared with the absolute relief and joy in knowing
[our son] has a chance to continue his recovery in a
safe and uplifting environment.” -SavingTeensParent
