Saving food for ourselves
ENG 107YISHI FU
• A survey made by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) shows that, the number of global food wasted each year is up to 1.3 billion tons, accounting for about one-third of the world's food production, which has exceeded the total number of food production in developing countries. It is estimated to meet the needs of the 870 million hungry population globally. At the same time, 1/7 of the world's population is still in a state of starvation, and almost every day more than 20,000 children under the age of five die of hunger.
