PROFILE

Saudi Bulk Transport Ltd. (SBT), a premium transport company has been serving the

kingdoms logistics needs for 33 years. SBT was established alongside Arabian Bulk

Trade (ABT) in

1977 as a

company to

transport across

the kingdom, the

various varieties of cement and building materials imported by ABT. These companies

are part of a large group of companies under the Xenel umbrella. Xenel was founded in

1973 by the descendants of one of the oldest trading houses in the Middle East.

SBT was the pioneer in bulk transport and handling of the premium imports serving the booming construction industry in Saudi Arabia. As it gained logistics know how and substantial goodwill of its customers, it decided to offer a new form of specialized time definitive express transport. This new service was established in 1998 under the brand of “SENDDEX”. During its decade of existence, SENDDEX has maintained the SBT reputation and has evolved into a 3PL service provider with warehousing and distribution services also offered.

SBT-GT: The General transport function of SBT present since the inception of SBT handles the requirements primarily of bulk cement transport and also bulk transport of other materials

SENDDEX: Provides reliable surface express transportation solutions for time-critical packages to be delivered within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

SENDDEX Contract Logistics: Provides warehousing and distribution services in the major cities of the Kingdom including Abha, Madina, Qassim, Yanbu and Jubail

harsh forces acting on shipments during road transportation ensuring minimum adverse

SBT has its own workshop facility with

qualified and experienced mechanics and

a substantial inventory of critical parts to

ensure uninterrupted service by GT and

SENDDEX. SBT also owns 3 recovery

vehicles to be used in the rare and

unfortunate event of a breakdown.

SENDDEX Warehouse Capacity

Western Region

SENDDEX has 2 current facilities at Jeddah for warehousing. One located at Guwaizah

has a combined capacity of 3540 square meters. The second facility situated at

Khumrah provides a total capacity of 3750 square meters

SENDDEX is developing its new state of the art facility near the industrial city at 60,000

square meters which should be ready in 2011

Central Region

The new state of the art facility at Riyadh stands at a ground area of 33,000 square

meters and houses a 12 meter high warehouse spanning a ground area of 5,000 sq.

mts. This facility provides 3392 pallet positions storage space

Eastern Region

The current facility at Dammam has 2149 square meters of warehouse space on offer.

A new high tech facility is being designed for Dammam over a land area of 25,000

square meters which should be ready towards the latter half of 2012

SENDDEX can provide high density rack storage, block storage and shelf storage in its

warehouses. SENDDEX can also provide custom developed solutions as required.

IT at SBT

The world recognized SAP ERP system has been implemented at SBT to provide a

seamless flow of real time information useful for our staff and customers alike. The

future will see a more transparent organization allowing our customers to book and

track shipments and view information directly. Having implemented SAP to support the

ever growing volume of business, SBT uses the Warehouse Management System

(WMS) provided by SAP, Germany as a part of its Sales & Distribution (S&D) Module.

This excellent piece of software controls all standard express transport and warehouse

activities that help us in achieving operational efficiency with a high level of accuracy.
