Work has already been started on our Chattahoochee. They will be repaired, cleaned, and an epoxy stain and finish coat will be applied. At this time, the Coral Stone wall of each building will be hydro blasted and cleaned. Notices will be posted in your building informing you when work on your building will be started. It should take 3 to 5 days per building, weather permitting. Please cooperate with the instructions on the notices which will be posted in your elevators, near your mailboxes, and other areas of your building so this project can be completed as soon as possible.

To all our unit owners and residents: In the event of a fire, after you pull the alarm you MUST

immediately call 911 and warn your neighbors. The alarms ring in the buildings only, but do not go to the fire stations.

We are in need of a building captain for building 17. If you would like to volunteer for this position, please call the

office at 954-752-6330. Larry FamaLarry FamaLarry FamaLarry Fama

Condo3 We are all looking forward to the cooler, drier

weather that November brings. Soon our snowbirds will be returning. Some activities you will see on our property are: trimming our palm trees, touch-up painting of our buildings and handrails, and repair of some new concrete cracks. Our sprinkler system is still being worked on, but progress has been slow because the grounds must be very dry in order to make and test the repairs.

We currently have a vacant seat on our Board of Directors. If you are interested, please see Robin in the office. Our elections are in January.

November dates to remember: 2nd, Daylight Saving Time ends -- turn your clocks

back one (1) hour.

4th, Election Day -- be sure to vote. 11th, Veteran's Day -- flags may be tied to the

handrails (no tape). 27th, Thanksgiving Day. Reminder: If laundry room machines are not

working, call COIN-O-MATIC directly at phone #954 761-1111. Put an out of order sign on the machine. If you lose money fill out the forms provided and give them to your building captain for a refund.

Happy birthday and anniversary to all those celebrating this month.

Our next Board Meeting will be on Monday, November 17th at 7:00 PM in the boardroom.

Condo 4 Peek-a-boo! You can now see into the recyclables

dumpster when it is closed and locked. We listened to your suggestions and cut a slit in its back so you can have access 24/7 – for skinny items, such as newspapers and collapsed boxes, anyway.

We replaced the main pump for our swimming pool. If you remember, we had to resort to manual chemical treatment and cleaning for a few weeks.

We welcome Scott Trechok and Lynne Whitaker to building 26 (Ida Murray’s former home) and Gary Livoti and Kathy Holmes to building 25 (Evelyn Slaughter’s former residence). It is nice to have unit 106 occupied again after having been empty the past several years.

We welcome Roberta Bernstein to the Board of Directors. She will be serving the remainder of Brian Cocker’s term. Brian had resigned to be able to spend more time with his granddaughter, although he continues as building 26’s captain. All five directors’ positions will be up for reelection in December.

We have hammered out next year’s budget and will bring its acceptance to a vote at the November 11th Board Meeting, which will take place in the auditorium. Although that is the official occurrence of Veterans Day, Holiday Springs will be celebrating it on Sunday. Our Unit Owners’ Annual Meeting will take place on December 9th.

We wish a rapid recovery to Gert Feltman and everyone we are unaware of who is in need. Have a happy Veterans Day and Thanksgiving Day. Happy birthday and anniversary.

Condo 6 Set your clocks back on November 2nd. We should

all be rested so we can vote on November 4th. On November 5th we will be meeting in the auditorium to consider & adopt the annual budget for 2015.

November 11th is Veterans Day. Let us take care and help all those who gave their lives and limbs so we could keep our freedom.

Did you know that it was President Lincoln who set aside the fourth Thursday in November to celebrate Thanksgiving? On November 27th we will be traveling or maybe cooking so we can enjoy a meal with family or friends.

We will be posting a date sometime this month when Bug Off will be coming to spray. The ants have really been bad due to all the rain we have had this summer. If you want the inside sprayed, you will need to be home to let them in.

Happy anniversary or happy birthday to all who are celebrating. May your troubles be less, may your blessings be more, and may nothing but happiness come through your door.

A Holiday in the Making History tells us the pilgrims

landed on December 11, 1620 and no Thanksgiving that year. The first Thanksgiving feast that the pilgrims hosted in 1621 lasted for three days. The first time all thirteen original colonies celebrated Thanksgiving together was in 1777.

Thanksgiving Day is a day set aside each year for people to give thanks with feasting and prayer for the blessings they have received during the year. It comes from our nation's history, beginning in 1620 when the Mayflower brought the first colonists to our shores where they landed on Plymouth Rock. Their first winter was devastating with only about half of the original group surviving the cold and lack of food. With the help of the Indians, who brought fish and wild game, and with a good harvest the following summer, the colony thrived. In the fall of 1621, the colonists and their Indian friends held a three-day feast in celebration.

To celebrate these special holidays, you can light candles, sing songs, play games, or feast on turkey with all its trimmings and give thanks.

The frozen turkey dinner came about because after Thanksgiving in 1953, the management of C.F. Swanson Company had 10 railroad cars of full of turkeys left over and boxcars that would only refrigerate when riding the rails. So, airline trays became a fad and the TV dinner was born. The dinner was cooked at home and cost 98 cents.

If cooking a turkey, the fresh one is better. If not cooking, reservations are needed and do the turkey trot. Happy Thanksgiving.
