This week’s featured es-tablishment is GatewayLodge Restaurant andLounge in Land O’ Lakes.

Gateway Lodge was builtin 1938, by radio and the-ater magnate John King, ofDetroit, Mich., whose por-trait still hangs in the mainlobby.

The lodge, constructedwith hand-hewn logs, sits onthe boundary line that sep-arates Wisconsin and Michi-gan, and provides lodgingand a fine-dining restau-rant.

Gateway Lodge Restau-rant features a menu thatoffers a variety of appetizersand entrees, from saladsand sandwiches to steaks,fish and pork, and home-style soups.

The restaurant featuresnightly specials, such as anall-you-can-eat shrimp boilWednesday nights; seniordiscounts Thursdays; all-you-can-eat fish fry, featur-ing broiled, deep-fried orhalf-and-half Fridays andprime rib Saturdays.

“The Gateway LodgeRestaurant features finedining in a warm and com-fortable atmosphere withthe charm of 1938, that willcreate a perfect family-din-ing experience,” said Gen-eral Manager SandyGarbarek.
