JROTC Military Ball Purpose
* The ball is an opportunity for you to
experience a formal event with formal
procedures
* Military tradition
* Has certain rules, procedures, and
protocol that must be followed
* NOT your traditional party
JROTC Military BallAttendance limited to 150:
• Cadets and guests
• School officials will be invited
• DHS JROTC instructors + guests
• Note: all leaders, flight sergeants
and NCOs(sergeants) on up, are
expected to attend
JROTC Military Ball Tickets• 7-11 Nov: cadets $25/guests $30
• 14-18 Nov: cadets $35/guests $40
• NO refunds after 18 Nov
• First come first serve
• Cadets initially buy ticket for self +1 guest
• 14 Nov can buy tickets for 2 more guests
• Prices for 7-11 Nov if first purchased 7-11 Nov
• Prices for 14-18 Nov if first purchased 14-18 Nov
• Must provide guest names when purchasing
tickets
• Everyone who enters must have a ticket

• Dancing to DJ music
• Photo (option to order pictures)

• 28 Nov each flight nominates up to 5
• Voting: only those with tickets may vote

• Tie breaker voting if needed
• Winner announced at military ball

School appropriate party dress or semi-formal dress
(equivalent to a male wearing suit and tie)
Gowns are welcome – BUT NOT REQUIRED
NO PANTS/NO PANT SUITS
Notes:
Cannot be too revealing, too tight, too short, see through, cut too low, etc.
Cannot be strapless, cannot have very thin spaghetti straps,
etc.
If in doubt, bring a cover
Need cover anyway, usually very cool
Shoes remain on at all times
Bring comfortable shoes for dancing

•Contents a mystery, brought out in a punch bowl
•“Rules of the Mess” will be included in program and explained
•Violators of the rules can be sent to the grog
Rules of the Mess
Include: Procedures:
Take a cup of the grog
Do an about face and face the mess
Raise the cup and say, “ To the mess”
Drink the contents of the cup without removing
it from your lips
Rules of the Mess
Include:
Not being late
Not leaving the area during any of the program
Not using proper grammar
Not eating before the head tables start
Not talking about work or school
Not questioning the decisions of the President or Mister Vice
Not rhyming when speaking to the Mess
Etc: rules will be part of the program
