Meet the protagonist o the lm, young and eisty Cornish girl…

Poppy Cobbledick

Poppy is an outsider in her small Cornish town and is teased by her ellow pasty-ace locals, not only because o her unor-tunate Cornish surname but because she stands out rom the

crowd. She is physically diferent in her tall and skinniness,but also in her mentality being an individual and ree think-er. Poppy questions the world and wonders what’s outside the

small Cornish town she has been raised in; she has a hobby o collecting pie wrappers or her pet seagull, which she must

keep under wraps...



IN THIS TOWN THERE’S ONLY ONE SAVOURY PASTRY.. ANDTHAT BE THE PROPER CORNISH PASTY!

Te pasty-ace locals in Poppy’s picturesque sea-side town enjoy an ideal liestyle; they take

great pride in all things local - especially their Cornish pasties. Te residents want to keepit that way and actively shun out non-locals, in particular the oreign pie-aces who try to

integrate into their society and steal their jobs and business.



Pie-ace people must look elsewhere to live or sleep rough, ater they are orced out o the sea-side town.

CORNISH PRIDE = STAY LOCAL. PRO-PASTY, ANTI PIES!



Anti-Pie posters are plastered around the town.



Poppy goes on a school trip to visit the local Pasty actory that overshadows the townto learn all about Cornish Pasties. She meets the proud and wealthy owner, the eccentric (and slightly unsavoury) character o Kenver Hollow-Oats.

Poppy’s inquisitive nature causes her to stumble upon the dark underground layer

o the actory, she soon discovers all is not as sweet as it seems uncovering the secret that what goes into a pasty isn’t so Cornish ater all - in act it is tortured and

imprisoned pies - minced, crimped and conormed into pasties!

‘Cornish’ Pasties are lies, they are tortured and re-conformed Pies!



Will he let her go now she knows the truth? Or do the other locals already know the

secret about their beloved pasties? How will the story end? Lets just say... Despite lack o meat on the young abductee -

Poppy sure does make a tasty Cornish pasty! …
