Sarvatobhadra Chakra is a tool used as part of Transit of Planets. The termSavatobhadra means overall auspiciousness (sarva- overall; bhadra-

The concept of vedha is very important in transit analysis. 2e can encounterthis concept hile studying transits of planets from natal 3oon and hence its

understanding is vital in any studies of transits. 4edha means to pierce andhence can means the poer of a planet to influence a favourable or

unfavourable result. 2hile in normal transits of planets! vedha of otherplanets can nulify the benefic or malefic influences! in Sarvatobhadra

Chakra! the 4edha shos the influence of transiting (or natal) planets on

various nakshtras! signs! tithis! aksharas etc. The vedha of benefics areconsidered to be favouable and that of malefics are considered as

unfavourable. The influence is stronger if they are ealted and retrogradehile eaker if they are debilitated.

2.1. TYPES OF VEDHA:There are three types of vedha5

1. Across vedha: 2hen seen from a transiting planet! the bodies fallingacross in the Sarvatobhadra chakra comes under vedha from the said

planet. Thus hen the planets transit on the nakshatra in the left all of the

chakra! the across vedha ill be on the nakshatras (and bodies) toards theright and vice versa. Similarly hen the planets transit the nakshatras on

the upper all of the chart! the accross vedha ill be donard. This vedhais more effective if the planets are in normal motion or stationary.

2. Fore vedha: 2hen seen from a transiting planet! the bodies falling in the

diagonal seen in clockise (odiacal) direction are under fore vedha. This

vedha becomes effective hen the planets are moving fast. This vedha isalays more important for the 6umineries! hose motion is alays in

forard direction.

3. Hind (rear vedha: 2hen seen from the transiting planet! the bodiesfalling in the diagonal seen in anticlockise (antiodiacal) direction are under

hind vedha. This vedha becomes effective hen the planets are in

retrograde motion! as their sight is backard. This vedha is alays effectivefor the nodes since they alays move in retrograde motion.

nodes. 2hen the planets are stationary or moving in normal pace! theacross vedha is more effective than others and hen moving in faster

2hen a transiting planet is in last 1uarter of the nakshatra preceding thecorner or the $st 1uarter of the nakshatra succeeding the corner! in addition

to the normal vedhas! they also cause vedha to the diagonal crossing the

Purna Tithi and all the bodies falling in that diagonal as ell as all the voelsin the corner.

Thus this specific condition is met hen a planet transits through last pada

of :harani! *slesha! 4ishakha and Sravana and the $st pada of rittika!

arma tithi is a little different from normal tithi. To find karma tithi! e

multiply the difference beteen 3oonMs longitude and SunMs longitude ith

$& and reduce the product to a value beteen &N and %A&N (by adding or

subtracting multiples of %A&N). 2e divide it by $" and add $ to the 1uotient.

That gives a number beteen $ and %& and that represents Ikarma tithiJ.

arma tithi changes $& times as fast as normal tithi. Similarly Idhana tithiJ

(lunar day of ealth) changes tice as fast as normal tithi. 2e can find a

tithi for several matters. The tithi relevant to the matter of interest should

be used hen finding vedha of transiting planets on tithis (>anda! :hadra!

=aya! Hikta and Poorna).

6et us take an eample. 0f the $&th house! karma nakshatra! karma tithi and

@anma vaara all have the vedha of a couple of transiting benefics! then some

good developments may take place in the nativeMs career. 0f they have the

vedha of a couple of malefics (instead of benefics)! then e can epect

setbacks in the nativeMs career. 0n this manner! e study the impact of

transits on important tithis! @anma vaara! important nakshatras and

0n the transit chart! Saturn is in naidhana nakshatra :harani. 3ars is in

Sati. Hahu is in *sresha. etu is in Sravanam.
