Sarina Food Safety Training In February, Sarina Neighbourhood Centre coordinated free food safety training for the non-profit organisations in the Sarina district who provide catering at events. This activity was held at the Bob Wood Cultural Hall on Tuesday, February 18. Training and resources were provided by Mackay Regional Council Environmental Health officer Debbie Adams and her team. The aim of the workshop was to educate our local organisations on safe food handling practices. A temporary stall was set up outside on the night to show exactly what is required when catering at an event. MECC chefs Carly and Hanh gave a cooking demonstration in the temporary stall and each attendee received a beautiful gourmet barbecue meal to finish off the evening. The Sarina Neighbourhood Centre is looking into providing another Food Safety Training Workshop in the near future.
