PossessionPossession0:00 The music builds for the first 16 seconds with the piano and guitar building the momentum. 0:16 At this time the vocals of the song enter. The piano and guitar are still producing the music and by now a feel for the melody of the song has been established, and the first verse begins. 0:45 The electric guitar makes a brief appearance breaking up the introduction to help lead into the first chorus. 0:54 At this time the percussion section of the band enters. The beat of the song starts to take shape and the beginning of the first chorus starts. 1:07 The backup vocals join in and offer a more melodic sound. 1:19 The vocals stop for 7 seconds and the music leads your ears to the second verse of the song. As the second verse is playing all the instruments join in to add power and strength. 1:45 Sarah McLachlan takes her voice an octave higher to add a dramatic effect. The drums are keeping the rhythm as this dramatic affect is taking place to keep the song flowing. 2:05 The chorus starts for the second time. 2:28 There is a break in the vocals for the next 30 seconds. It is the music of the chorus, but just an instrumental. 2:57 At this time, the third verse of the song begins. 3:34 The drums get strong with a few stand alone beats indicating that a change is coming up. 3:36 The chorus starts for the third time. As all the instruments are playing in harmony, you can feel the power of the music, the beat and rhythm. 3:59 The chorus is sing for a fourth time. 4:18 The vocals again, are raised an octave and the tempo slows, indicating the song is winding down. 4:23 The vocals are fading and the electric guitar makes a few notes in the music, breaking the fading vocals up. 4:36 The song then fades out completely.

Hold OnHold On0:00 The guitar makes the introduction alone, with a few simple chords. 0:14 The drums start very lightly to add to the movement of the song. 0:26 The vocals enter, still with light music in the background, but building up. At this 0:54 The first verse of the song begins. It still has gradual pick up to the sound with the light beat of the drums and guitars. 1:36 The momentum of the song seems to have reached its peak and this leads into the chorus, for the first time. 1:50 The chorus starts and the music now has a more repetitious sound and beat. 2:13 The vocals take a break and the instruments play the melody of the song, keeping the beat and rhythm going. 2:25 The vocals return with the second verse. 3:06 The chorus starts for a second time. 3:27 The chorus repeats for a third time. 3:48 A slight pause in the music with the drums taking charge indicates a change in the tempo, and the words and music start to slow. The vocals fade for a moment as the music carries your ear to the end of the song. 3:56 Vocals return to end the song with the same words it introduced itself with. 4:06 The words and music end on the some beat.

AdiaAdia0:01 The vocals start after only two beats of the piano introduction. 0:26 The guitars join to start giving the song momentum. 0:29 The drums join in to take the music to its peak, and the first verse begins. 1:03 The chorus starts for the first time and the music stops building and starts to even out and produce more melody. 1:31 Verse two begins The second verse was also introduced by a few strong drum beats. 2:03 The chorus begins for the second time. 2:29 The vocals rest while the piano plays the melody. 2:47 Vocals return with the chorus playing for the third time. The music has slowed and softened, with the piano accompanying the vocals. 3:13 The chorus starts for the fourth time and the music builds up again to give the chorus a stronger more powerful sound. All of the instruments are playing together to add to the melody. 3:50 The vocals begin to fade and the music slows down. 3:53 The vocals have faded completely and the musical notes are being held to carry the song to the end.
