SAP Note 211324 - CJB1: Strategy for settlement tosuperior WBS

Summary

Symptom

The function 'Automatic Generation of WBS Settlement Rule' does not support

an internal settlement to the superior WBS element.

This note is a modification. Also see Note 170183 for more information.

The fact that SAP documents this modification in a note does not imply any

obligation for SAP to maintain these enhancements.

Reason and Prerequisites

This problem is caused by a missing function.In Release 4.0B, this note is only relevant if you use the advance

correction for automatic generation of the settlement rule for WBS elements

(see related Note 113815).

Solution

Implement the attached modification. This way, in Customizing maintenance

of the strategies for WBS settlement rule generation, a fifth receiver type

'superior WBS element' is created.

Proceed as follows:

1. Carry out the changes to DDIC objects and system settings described insection 'Solution'.

2. Then carry out the attached program changes.

Both changes are modifications that you must check after you import a

Support Package.

Note:

In general we do not recommend an internal settlement within the WBS,

since:

o this can dramatically increase the runtimes of the settlement.

o the values in project reporting may be displayed incorrectly.

The use of an internal settlement can make sense for the settlement of

investment projects.

Under path 'Project System --> Costs --> Automatic & Periodic Allocations

--> Settlement', the online help contains detailed recommendations for

structuring the project settlement for different project categories.

Changes to DDIC objects and system settings:

o Insert a new default rule for the settlement

- up to Release 4.5B: Call transaction SM31 --> enter table TKB2A

--> select 'View maintenance'.

- As of Release 4.6A: Call transaction SM31 -> enter table/view

V_TKB2_1 -> select 'Maintain'

- Option 'New entries'.

- Enter default rule 'PR4', text 'GenSetRule WBS:: superior

superior WBS'.

- Save the change in a transport request. The text may need to be

translated into the other used logon languages.

- up to Release 4.5B: Return to the initial screen of transaction

SM31 -> enter table TKB2C -> select 'View maintenance'. In the

dialog box, choose view V_TKB2_2.

- As of Release 4.6A: Return to the initial screen of transaction

SM31 -> enter table/view V_TKB2_2 -> choose 'Maintain'.

- Enter default rule PR4.

- Option 'New entries'.

- Add the following entries:

- Transaction SE11 --> Domain SRG_KONTY --> Change.

- Choose 'Values'.

- Insert value '5' with short text 'Superior WBS element'.

- Activate the domain. Check that the domain now has status

'active'. If necessary, this enhancement must be translated

too.
