State that soap is a salt produced by the reaction between sodium hydroxide and fatty acids 3. State the characteristics of the components of a soap molecule 4. Explain the cleansing action of soap molecules LESSON OUTLINE : INDUCTION Students view computer simulation and video on the cleansing action of soap molecules. ACTIVITY 1. Students divided into 6 groups. 2. Students carry out activity to study the process of making soap through the reaction between fatty acids and sodium hydroxide and fatty acids. 3. Students discuss soap as a salt produced by the reaction between sodium hydroxide and fatty acids. 4. Students discuss the cleansing action of soap making. 5. Students completes lab report.
