Full settlement (final settlement) During the full settlement , the costs are transferred from the asset under construction to the asset that is to be activated. If you do not want to settle all costs to the asset under co nstruction during periodic settlement, you can use preliminary settlement rules to settle a part of the costs or all costs to other receivers (CO receiver, such as cost centers, or G/L account). During the full settlement, you can use full settlement rules (final settlement rules) to apportion the costs that were alrea dy settled to the asset under construction to the final receivers. At the same t ime, you can also settle costs that were incorrectly settled to the asset under construction to other receivers (CO receiver or G/L account). When you use an in vestment measure with line item settlement, you can use the Transaction for "Lin e item apportionment" (KOB5 for order, CJ7O or CJIC for WBS element) to set expl icit preliminary settlement rules and full settlement rules for each selected li ne item. You can also set blanket (default) preliminary settlement rules and ful l settlement rules. These rules are then used for all line items, for which you have not entered a specific rule. You can set the blanket settlement rules (defa ult rule) in the appropriate master data maintenance screen by calling the menu option for settlement rules from there. When you are in the Transaction for "Lin e item apportionment", you can then call the maintenance screen for blanket sett lement rules in the menu under Edit -> Default distribution rules. Note: you can not enter distribution rules for automatic settlement to the asset under constru ction. The system automatically creates a rule during the first periodic settlem ent. If the "Manage asset under construction" indicator is not set in the invest ment profile or the investment profile is not entered for the order or WBS eleme nt, then the settlement can only have one step. With this, all costs are settled directly to the assets, using the relevant settlement rule (settlement type PER or FUL). In particular, the system does not take back costs that were periodica lly settled to an asset if the the order or WBS element receives the status "tec hnically complete" and if you want to carry out a full settlement. Line item set tlement is also not provided for.
