About us

Sankt Helene is a holiday and con-ference centre built in 1991. Sankt Helene is an autonomous institution with a broad combination of board representatives with the support of local as well as national organisa-tions. Sankt Helene has approx. 40,000 overnight guests annually.

The Green Key

Sankt Helene was awarded the Environmental Certificate, The Green Key, in 1997. This means that Sankt Helene does something extra for the environment. As a guest, this means that you are sure that you have chosen a holiday resort where something is consciously done for the environment.

Danhostel

With a hostel card in hand, you have access to all the world’s hostels and as such, also DANHOSTEL in Tisvildeleje, which is part of Sankt Helene. In many places and as in Denmark, the standard of hostels has gradually become so high that it can be compared to other more luxurious forms of accommodation.

Accessibility

Sankt Helene is the ideal starting point for a large number of experiences; Holiday, leisure and celebrations. Conferences, courses and meetings. Or just a good dinner for two. Loads of activities or relaxing idleness. We have basically everything your heart desires. Beach, forest and many attractions – either close up or at manageable distance with public transport. Only 45 minutes by car from the temptations of the city of Copen-hagen. Or leave the car and take the train, which goes almost directly to Sankt Helene.

We can offer all of four accommodation options; from the very simple – but charming – holiday cabins, to comfortable apartments with every-thing you need.

Regardless of what you choose, you will always experience the very special atmosphere that sur-rounds Sankt Helene.

It is pleasant, it is informal and our personnel will always do their best so you receive the service that lives up to your expectations and require-ments. Quite simply, there is a good environment here – both in the literal sense and in the more figurative sense. The centre, which is built up around an old four-winged farm from 1894, radi-ates a wonderful combination of history and good, new building traditions.

We are also proud to have the environmental certificate, “The Green Key”, as proof that we live up to strict environmental demands.

We offer a selection of organic products for the breakfast table and a large number of energy-saving measures. For example, our hot water consumption is based on solar heating.

Furthermore, the layout of Sankt Helene is natu-rally disabled-friendly.

Holidays for the entire family in the middle of natureSankt Helene offers innumerable opportunities for the family who wants to enjoy each other’s company in a completely new way. Activities and relaxation at a pace that suits you. The country-side offers many experiences as we are neigh-bours to both a forest and a beach.

Tisvildeleje beach is known as one of north Zea-land’s most visited beaches. It is easy to get to, by walking, on a bike as well as by car where you almost park on the sand dunes. Close to the beach you will find the charming and old fishing village, which gives Tisvildeleje its special charac-ter and is witness to the village’s old history.

In the countryside and yet so close to the city45 minutes by car or 75 minutes by train and S-tog (suburban lines). That is how close you are to all the experiences in Copenhagen. Experience Tivoli, Experimentarium, the Zoo, Amalienborg, Copenhagen Harbour, Nyhavn or the Opera House.

To experience some of the local atmosphere, take the whole family to Gilleleje Harbour, where the aroma of fish makes the atmosphere a special one.

Try a delicacy from one of the many small, cosy eateries, take a trip to Nakkehoved lighthouse or

continue on to Helsinge where the newly reno-vated walking street offers great shopping opportunities.

For all agesWhether you are a child, a parent or a grand-parent, Sankt Helene and Tisvildeleje have some-thing to offer you.

There are lots of cosy local environments in the small summer town; when the Flea Market opens near the Station for the whole summer season or the ice-cream stall opens on the beach selling huge ice-cream cones, as well as seeing a movie in our cosy local cinema, which is run by local enthusiasts but where exciting movies are on the programme the entire year.

Loads of activities for the entire familyAt Sankt Helene we place importance on the whole family being together when on holiday. Having said that, here are some suggestions for experiences and activities that you and your fam-ily can do together, either on your own initiative or together with others.

If it’s been a while since your family has been on a fishing trip, we will supply you with fishing rods and a fishing licence. We also have several orienteering tracks with marked control points ready in Tisvilde Hegn. You do not need to run the course at a fast pace, but if you find all the control points, we award you with a small prize. Go to the beach with your fishing net, or catch crabs from the pier.

Family funIf you would like to be together with others, we have a small activity programme in the schools’ summer holiday period in our Kalle Kanin Club with, e.g. candy making, Indian camp, ball games and more.

We have a playing ground, playing fields, tennis and mini golf if you prefer to be active. Every day the farm’s animals are fed and during the sum-mer, you are welcome to join us and get close to the animals.

Nature playground – worth a visitCrocodiles sculpted out of tree stumps, runic writing on rustic boards and a huge pirate ship on the way out to the great oceans create a perfect playground atmosphere for your children.

Only the sky is the limit when you visit the nature playground at Sankt Helene.

The legend about the beautiful princess Helene, who drifted onto the shore near Tisvilde beach is depicted in wood, sculpted with a chain saw.

All the structures for playing have a story, right from Gandalf from Lord of the Rings, to the sandwich board in “Madparken” or the “G-Key”, which surrounds this “dining alcove” where you can enjoy the food you have brought along.

Meetings and conferences in inspiring surroundingsSankt Helene has extensive experience in arrang-ing meetings and conferences for small and large companies, associations and institutions.

We can manage everything from small team-building events, to large conferences lasting several days with hundreds of participants. And we can help with everything from activities and speakers to festive dinners and accommodation.

We have the capacity for over 200 persons in the same facility and accommodation can be provided in single, double or family rooms and apartments.

Conference hostWhile you are staying with us, you are in good hands. Our conference host is ready to help you as much as possible through the event.

Among other things, the host can coordinate your needs with, e.g. Restaurant Sofie, ensure facilities for evening get-togethers and much more.

Conference workshopYou have perhaps already heard about our work-shop. It has become an established tradition just before the autumn holiday. This is a day where we invite a large number of consultant companies to show current as well as future course buyers what they can offer within HR.

Unique group events

At Sankt Helene we have facilities available for many varying group events. Right from football and orienteering camps, over music and choir weekends, to motorcycle club meets and family weekends.

Golf tripsA social trip or pure training, either in groups or in couples. Among other things, we have a green fee agreement with Helsinge Golf course; an 18-hole course that provides you with a demanding but very beautiful experience. The course is dominat-ed by hills, lakes and streams and is designed by the Spanish architect, Luiz Lopez Martinez.

Football training camp Groups of minimum 20 persons where training is the priority, but with just as many good opportu-nities for socialising.

Minimum 3 x training sessions on a weekend. Full board from Friday evening to Sunday morning with focus on healthy food with ample amounts of energy.

All girls weekend at Sankt HeleneTake your best friend with you to experience a wellness weekend with a difference – only for girls! There is cosy socialising with other girls of all ages about topics such as reflexology, healing, makeup, clairvoyance, flower decorating, facials, treatments for feet, coaching and body massage or something entirely different.

Children and youngster groupsIf this is about a school camp or class trip with parents, then we have just the right product for you.

With or without meals, we have cabins that can accommodate up to 5 children or a family with 2 adults and 2-3 children. There is access to com-munal kitchen and bathing facilities.

Active senior citizensWhether you just want an excursion by bus for a single day or you want to stay at Sankt Helene for several days, Tisvildeleje is worth a visit.

Our well-appointed rooms and apartments are the perfect starting point for a senior citizens’ club to visit North Zealand or Copenhagen.

Restaurant Sofie for every occasionEveryone is welcome at Restaurant Sofie. Resi-dent guests as well as guests just dropping by. You can enjoy the menu of the day all year round, but just give us a call before, so you can be sure the kitchen is open on precisely the day you want to visit us.

If you are to throw a party, bachelor party, chil-dren’s birthday, general meeting or something else for a group of participants, then give us a call and obtain an offer of what we can do for you.

Family partySankt Helene offers unique surroundings for festive occasions. We have more than 15 years of experience in arranging everything from small family celebrations to large weddings and we can assist with all the loose ends.

We have four party facilities with the capacity for 20 to 220 persons in the same facility and all guests can be accommodated in rooms or apart-ments – so no one needs to keep a tally on what they drink. And of course, your party can carry on for as long as you like.

So regardless of whether you want to hold a big festive event or just a cosy weekend for your closest family members, Sankt Helene can help to create an unforgettable experience.

Á la CarteIn the summer months, Restaurant Sofie trans-forms to an á la carte restaurant but with emphasis on welcoming the whole family. We have made an especially good offer for children in the form of a Kalle Kanin children’s buffet with everything children like but also healthy choices “in consideration of the adults”.

Company party and Christmas party (julefrokost)Be inspired by a large range of unique theme parties – from film festivals to murder mysteries.

Every year, more than 1,000 guests manage to get through Sankt Helene’s Christmas lunches, where we offer an all-inclusive event so you are aware of the budget beforehand.

Dance to live music, with free bar until midnight and conclude the event with a midnight snack from our hot dog stand in the outdoors.

Café HeleneThis is where you can concentrate on a good cup of coffee while you read about the legend of the beautiful Helene, after which the café is named. In the summer months, we have a menu with small dishes as well as something to quench your thirst; for example, the popular “Afternoon Tea” on the terrace.

40 large and bright family rooms with TV. 25 m² with 5 beds (1 double sofa bed and 3 box beds), entrance hall with lockable cup-boards as well as toilet and shower.

The desk can also be used as a dining table.

Holiday apartment

15 x 6-person apartments; 57 m² containing 2 rooms, loft with 2 sleeping places, 2 TV’s, terrace, kitchen and toilet with shower.

10 x 4-person apartments; 33 m² containing 1 room with loft with 2 sleeping places, TV, terrace, kitchen and toilet with shower.

Holiday cabin

28 charming holiday cabins; 20 m² with one room in which there is 1 single bed, ¾ bed and a ¾ bed on the loft, kitchen table with water and coffee maker as well as a table and chairs for 4 persons. Toilet and shower, as well as kitchen facilities, are located in the communal service building (distance max. 50 m).
