REPAINTING & STERILIZATION OF WATER TANK

SCHEDULE OF RATES

PREAMBLE 1. The rates contained herein include the use of materials, labour, maintenance, supply

of fuel and all idling time of vehicles, opening up, taking down, cutting and refixing, preparation for washing, turning on and off of water supply, tightening bolts and nuts (where necessary), provision of standby plumbers, ladders and torchlights, other tools / equipment and removal of all debris, empty tins and other unwanted materials from the roofs, all as specified, including making good all leaking tank panels with approved sealants (where necessary), conveyance, delivery, unloading, storing, hoisting, stools/ladders, all labour setting, fitting, fixing in position, all cutting and waste, return of packings, establishment charges, overheads, profit and all forms of claim for loss and expense and making good all work disturbed, unless otherwise stated.

2. The rates of painting of water tanks unless otherwise stated include the preparation

of surfaces as per manufacturer’s recommendations and Employer’s instructions. No dilution of coating materials are allowed unless recommended by the manufacturer and the Employer. The application of coating materials shall comply strictly to the manufacturer’s recommendations and Employer’s instructions.

3. The cost of hacking, removal and disposal, and the making good of all affected

works shall be deemed to be included in the Schedule of Rates unless otherwise stated. All schedule of Rates shall be applicable for new and replacement work.

4. Unless otherwise stated, all works shall be measured nett as fixed in its place.

Length of pipes shall be measured based on exposed length. 5. All pipes are described by their respective nominal size specified by the respective

manufacturers. 6. The Employer reserves the right to direct the Contractor to execute any of the

undermentioned items of works which he considers necessary. 7. No scaffold (other than a tower scaffold and trestle scaffold) exceeding 4 metres shall be erected, installed, re-positioned, altered or dismantled except by an approved Scaffold Contractor. An approved Scaffold Contractor shall engage a qualified Scaffolding Supervisor to ensure that the scaffold is erected, installed, re- positioned, altered or dismantled in accordance with the Regulations. The 4 metres height is defined as the distance between the ground level where scaffold rests and the level of the highest working platform. The Schedule of Rates have taken into consideration of the scaffolding cost for height not exceeding 4 metres. The Contractor shall be paid separately for the scaffolding if its height exceeds 4 metres.
