• Although San Salvador is the pattern of Oviedo, San Mateo is the star of the show in the city.

The day of the fiesta is the 21st, in which citizens and visitors often eat in the parks and gardens of the city bollu preñao with a bottle of wine.

That night fireworks are launched from Winter Park, an event that gathers a large crowd.

However, no party all week, the core of the night are the bars that are installed in the old part of the city.

There are concerts every day in the Plaza de la Catedral (free).

In 1894, the chronicles that the City has a budget of 5,000 pesetas. and ranged from 17 to 23 September.

Today, the festival of San Mateo are known throughout Spain. They feature plus it being a college town, coincide with the end of summer and the beginning of the academic activity.

The duration of the holiday now, is approximately 9 days varying dates.

The musical has a high profile and are spread across multiple locations. All of them are free.

The night of the fires in Oviedo is a tradition. Already in 1920 the ovetenses enjoyed a night of fireworks.

Held in the Parque de Inverno, that location is a great success for the site characteristics, provides great security for attendees and is also the place to accommodate the crowds who come to see the show with a superb visibility from any site at which they are placed.

It is attended by over 100,000 spectators.
