Evolution Kit Features • SMART HUB: Your Evolution Kit features Smart Hub, a multi-purpose entertainment and family center. You can use

Smart Hub to surf the web or download and run applications. In addition, you can view or play photo, video, and music files stored on external storage devices.

• e-Manual: Provides a detailed, on-screen user’s manual built into the Evolution Kit.

• Samsung Smart Control: The Samsung Smart Control has a motion sensor that lets you control the TV easily by moving the Samsung Smart Control and using it much like a cordless mouse.

LimitationsThe TV panel and the physical design of the TV are not changed by the Evolution Kit.

The actual performance of the TV may vary and is subject to model specifications and hardware limitations.

Upgrading to a 2015 TV with the Evolution Kit results in the following limitations:

• The Evolution Kit may not support some apps and functions you used previously.

• Installing the Evolution Kit may reset some of the existing TV settings.

• If you are mounting the kit onto a wall-mounted TV, remove the TV from the wall first.

• Mounting an Evolution Kit that has been used on a different TV will reset the user data contained in the kit.

Installing the Evolution KitBy mounting the Evolution Kit onto your existing Samsung TV, you can upgrade the TV’s software without purchasing a new TV. Use the Evolution Kit to unlock the new features and services offered by Samsung Electronics.

✎ If a USB device is connected to the TV, the Evolution Kit may not install properly. Remove any USB devices from the TV before installing the Evolution Kit.

Preparing for installation

✎ First, check the TV’s network status and ensure there is an Internet connection.

• If you only have a TV

Select MENU > Support > Software Update, and then update the software by selecting Auto Update or Update now.

• If you have a TV with an older Evolution Kit

1. Turn off the TV.

2. Detach the Evolution Kit from the TV.

3. Turn on the TV.

4. Select MENU > Support > Software Update, and then update the software by selecting Auto Update or Update now.

Attaching the Evolution Kit

1. Turn off the TV.

2. Unplug the power cord.

3. Insert the Evolution Kit’s two tabs into the two slots on the TV as shown in the diagram below, and then plug the Kit into the TV .

✎ Before snapping the Evolution Kit into place, make sure that the two tabs have been inserted securely into the two Evolution Kit slots on the back of the TV. The kit can be damaged if you continue without securely positioning the tabs in the slots.

5. To connect a wired network to the TV:

To use a wired network with a 2014 TV that has an Evolution Kit attached, disconnect the LAN cable from the TV, and then connect it to the Kit using the LAN Cable Adapter.

To use a wired network with a 2013, connect the LAN cable to the TV.

6. Plug the TV’s power cable into an outlet.

Upgrading the TV’s Software

1. Turn on the TV, and then wait for the TV to recognize the Evolution Kit (up to 10 seconds).

2. Once recognized, the Evolution Kit automatically updates the TV’s software. Wait for the update process to finish.

✎ The TV will turn off and on automatically after completing the software update.

3. Follow the directions on the screen to set up the initial settings.

Before connecting a USB device to your TV • If you have a 2014 H8000 series model, you cannot use the USB 3.0 port on your TV after you have connected the

Evolution Kit. Use the USB 3.0 port on the Evolution Kit to connect a USB device to your TV.

• If you have another model, use a USB port on your TV. You cannot use the USB 3.0 port on the Evolution Kit.

Using the Samsung Smart Control: Press this button to mute the sound temporarily.

CC: Press and hold this button to show or hide captions on the TV's screen.

MIC: Use the microphone with the Voice Recognition and Voice functions.

: Turns the TV on or off.SOURCE: Displays and selects the available video sources.

MENU/123: Press this button to display the On-Screen Remote. Displays the numeric buttons, the Source button, the Menu button, and other function buttons on the top of the screen so that you can run functions conveniently.

Press and hold this button to run the Voice Recognition function.

POINTER: Place a finger on the POINTER button and move the Samsung Smart Control. The pointer on the screen moves in the direction you moved the Samsung Smart Control. Press the POINTER button to select or run a focused item.

y: Changes the volume.

z: Changes the channel.

< > ¡ £: Moves the focus and changes the values seen on the TV's menu.

(Enter): Press this button to select or run a focused item.

Press and hold this button to launch the Guide while you are watching the TV.

RETURN: Press this button to return to the previous menu.

EXIT: Press and hold this button to exit the currently running function on the TV’s screen.

: Use these buttons with a specific feature according to the directions on the TV's screen.

EXTRA: Displays related information about the current program.

SMART HUB: Press this button to bring up Smart Hub applications. (See the e-Manual chapter, "Smart Features > Smart Hub.")

Installing Batteries into the Samsung Smart Control

To install the batteries, push the rear cover open in the direction of the arrow and insert the batteries as shown in the figure. Make sure that the positive and negative ends are facing in the correct direction.

✎ Alkaline batteries are recommended for longer battery life.

Pairing the Smart Control with the TV

Press the button on the Samsung Smart Control to turn on the TV. The Samsung Smart Control pairs with the TV automatically. If this is the first time you have turned on the TV, the Initial Setup screen appears. Follow the directions on the screen to set up the TV.

If the Samsung Smart Control Does Not Pair

If the Samsung Smart Control does not pair with the TV automatically, point it at the remote control sensor of the TV, and then press and hold the buttons labeled ① and ② in the diagram simultaneously for 3 seconds or more.

Using the POINTER to operate the TV

Place a finger on the POINTER button of the Samsung Smart Control, and then move the Samsung Smart Control. The pointer on the screen moves in the direction you moved the Samsung Smart Control. Press the POINTER button to select or run a focused item.

e-Manual GuideThe embedded e-Manual contains information about the key features of your TV.

Displaying the e-Manual:

• On the Samsung Smart Control, press the MENU/123 button, and then select e-Manual on the On Screen Remote.

• In the TV’s menu, select MENU > Support > e-Manual.

- You can download and view a printable version of the e-Manual on the Samsung website.

Restoring the TV to its previous stateIf you remove the Evolution Kit without running the restoration function, the TV will not work and the screen will be blank.

1. Select MENU/123 > MENU > Support > Software Update > Remove Evolution Kit.

2. In the pop-up menu, select Yes.

- Do not turn off the TV or disconnect the TV power plug during the restoration process.

3. After the TV finishes the restoration process and turns off on its own, detach the Evolution Kit from the TV.

- For more information, refer to Detaching Evolution Kit on the next page.

4. After turning on the TV, configure the settings by following the instructions on the screen.

5. In MENU > Support > Software Update, select Auto Update or Update Now to return to the previous version.

- The network should have been connected.

Fixation du dispositif Evolution Kit

1. Mettez le téléviseur hors tension.

2. Débranchez le cordon d’alimentation.

3. Insérez les deux pattes de l’ensemble Evolution dans les deux fentes du téléviseur tel qu’indiqué dans le diagramme ci-dessous, et ensuite branchez-le au téléviseur No .

✎ Avant d’encliqueter l’ensemble Evolution, assurez-vous que les deux pattes ont été insérées solidement dans les deux fentes de l’ensemble Evolution à l’arrière du téléviseur. L’ensemble risque de s’endommager si vous poursuivez sans avoir inséré solidement les pattes dans les fentes.

5. Pour brancher le téléviseur à un réseau câblé :

Pour utiliser un téléviseur 2014 équipé d’un dispositif Evolution Kit sur un réseau filaire, débranchez le câble LAN du téléviseur et ensuite branchez-le au dispositif Evolution Kit à l’aide de l’adaptateur pour le câble LAN.

Pour utiliser un réseau câblé avec un modèle de téléviseur 2013, branchez le câble LAN à ce dernier.

6. Branchez le câble d’alimentation du téléviseur à une prise.

Mise à jour du logiciel du téléviseur

1. Mettez le téléviseur sous tension, puis attendez qu’il reconnaisse l’ensemble Evolution (jusqu’à 10 secondes).

2. Une fois reconnu, l’ensemble Evolution met à jour le logiciel du téléviseur automatiquement. Attendez que le processus de mise à jour soit terminé.

✎ Le téléviseur se mettra hors tension et redémarrera automatiquement une fois la mise à jour terminée.

3. Suivez les instructions à l’écran pour régler les paramètres initiaux.

Avant de brancher un dispositif USB à votre téléviseur • Si vous avez un modèle de série 2014 H8000, vous ne pouvez pas utiliser le port USB 3.0 du téléviseur après avoir

connecté l’ensemble Evolution. Branchez un appareil USB au téléviseur à l’aide du port USB 3.0 sur l’ensemble Evolution.

• Si vous avez un autre modèle, utilisez un port USB du téléviseur. Vous ne pouvez pas utiliser le port USB 3.0 de l’ensemble Evolution.

Utilisation de la télécommande Samsung Smart Control: cette touche permet de désactiver temporairement le son.

CC: appuyez sur cette touche et maintenez la pression pour afficher ou masquer les sous-titres à l’écran du téléviseur.

MIC: utilisez le microphone avec les fonctions Reconnaissance vocale et Voix.

: permet de mettre le téléviseur sous tension et hors tension.SOURCE: permet d’afficher et de sélectionner les sources vidéo disponibles.

MENU/123: Appuyez sur cette touche pour afficher la télécommande à l’écran. Affiche à l’écran les touches numériques, la touche Source, la touche de menu et d’autres touches de fonction en haut de l’écran de manière à pouvoir exécuter les fonctions en toute convivialité.

Appuyez sur cette touche et maintenez la pression pour exécuter la fonction Reconnaissance vocale.

POINTER : placez un doigt sur la touche POINTER pour effectuer un mouvement avec la télécommande Samsung Smart Control. Le pointeur à l’écran se déplace dans la même direction que la télécommande Samsung Smart Control. Appuyez sur la touche POINTER pour sélectionner ou exécuter l’objet saisi.

y: permet de régler le volume.

z: permet de changer de chaîne.

Installation des piles dans la télécommande Samsung Smart Control

Pour installer les piles, ouvrez le couvercle à l’arrière dans le sens indiqué par la flèche et insérez les piles conformément à l’illustration. Assurez-vous que les polarités positif et négatif donnent dans le bon sens.

✎ Nous recommandons d’utiliser des piles alcalines pour une plus longue durée de vie des piles.

Pairage de la télécommande Smart Control avec le téléviseur

Appuyez sur la touche de la télécommande Samsung Smart Control pour mettre le téléviseur en marche. La télécommande Samsung Smart Control est automatiquement pairée au téléviseur. Si vous mettez le téléviseur en marche pour la première fois, l’écran de configuration initiale s’affiche. Utilisation du POINTEUR pour commander le téléviseur

Placez un doigt sur la touche POINTER de la télécommande Samsung Smart Control, puis effectuez un mouvement avec cette dernière. Guide électroniqueLe guide électronique intégré contient des renseignements sur les fonctions clés de votre téléviseur.

Affichage du guide électronique :

• Sur la télécommande Samsung Smart Control, appuyez sur la touche MENU/123, puis sélectionnez e-Manual sur la télécommande à l’écran.

• Dans le menu, sélectionnez la fonction MENU > Support technique > e-Manual.

- Vous pouvez télécharger et voir une version imprimable du guide électronique sur le site Web Samsung.

Restaurer le téléviseur à son état de configuration antérieurSi vous retirez l’ensemble Evolution sans exécuter la fonction de restauration, le téléviseur ne fonctionne pas et l’écran est blanc.

1. Sélectionnez MENU/123 > MENU > Support technique > Mise à jour du logiciel > Supprimer la trousse Evolution Kit.

2. Dans le menu contextuel, sélectionnez Oui.

- Ne mettez pas le téléviseur hors tension et ne retirez pas la prise du téléviseur pendant le processus de restauration.

3. Une fois que le téléviseur a terminé le processus de restauration et s’éteint de lui-même, retirez l’ensemble Evolution du téléviseur.

- Pour plus d’information, reportez-vous à la section Retrait de l’ensemble Evolution à la page suivante.

4. Après avoir mis le téléviseur sous tension, configurez les paramètres en suivant les instructions s’affichant à l’écran.

5. Sous MENU > Support technique > Mise à jour du logiciel, sélectionnez Mise à jour auto ou Mettre à jour pour retourner à la version précédente.

- Le réseau devrait être connecté.

Débrancher le dispositif Evolution KitPour débrancher le dispositif Evolution Kit, tenez-le par les bords conformément à l’illustration, appuyez sur le bouton situé du côté droit ①, soulevez le côté droit tel qu’illustré ② et ensuite retirez le côté gauche des fentes sur le téléviseur.
