How to collect hairs
・Cut more than 10 hairs at the portion close to the roots.
Grasp tightly as the root side can be defined
How to prepare hair samples
Root side
How to wash hair samples
Fully damp the clean gauze with acetone (or ethanol)
Wipe well the hairs with a damped gauze. This procedure should be repeated a few times.

How to prepare a Target
Stick the root-side of the hair on the holder with an adhesive tape first, and then fix the other side so that hairs don’t overlap each other. Morethan eight hairs should be used if possible.
The total width of the fixed hairs should be within 6 mm. (within the beam diameter)
6 mm
Bad example
Adhesion tape is irradiated with the beam

No.6-female-32
No.9-male-48Normal controlHang the short hairs from the upper side of
the holder with an adhesive tape.
The adhesive tape should not be irradiated with the beam.

Preparation of Urine samples
Take the urine sample of 5 μl with a micro-pipette.
Preparation of Urine samples-2
Put the 5μl of urine sample on the backing film stuck on the target holder.
Dry it in a clean atmosphere.
Preparation of water samples
Put more than 5cc of the waters sample into the perfectly sealed vessel. Keep it in a cold storage before transportation so as not to rot.
Preparation of farm products
Wash the sample with a water and remove soils and other impurities, and dry it. The amount of the sample should be more than 50 mg after drying.
Preparation of soils, sediments and tailings
Put a sample through a sieve and make the particle size uniform in your own way.
Preparation of soil samples
Put the sample of more than 500 mg into a shielded plastic bag.
