problem
As a kid I remember how stressful it was putting on my shoes and taking them off.
![Page 7: Sample Portfolio](https://reader031.fdocuments.us/reader031/viewer/2022020504/568c52371a28ab4916b5c569/html5/thumbnails/7.jpg)
1. Shoes are hard to put on and kids just force their feet into them.2. Shoes are taken on and off throughout the day.3. It is tedious to put shoes on and takes a lot of time to lace them up.
![Page 8: Sample Portfolio](https://reader031.fdocuments.us/reader031/viewer/2022020504/568c52371a28ab4916b5c569/html5/thumbnails/8.jpg)
exploration
The answer has always been laces or Velcro, but stretchable straps can make it more efficient.

Behind all the design and research, entrepreneurs must also understand the business side as well.

The problem I found while researching existing products is that most vacuums look like cheap appliances.
Problem Statement
What form will benefit my needs to make an improved vacuum?

Conducted user testing to find if aesthetics follows function.
While using my sketches I found my direction of form. I used what I sketched to produce full sized mock ups to understand how a user interacted with it.

We used geometric triangular shapesto make our products more cohesive later in the process.

In Philadelphia, we came up with 30 concepts in only two days. Back in San Jose we had to narrow it down to two final concepts.
