It shoud 5e confirmed in the engine room if there is a pro5em of free propeer rotation.
It is necessar" to determine in advance ho* to ock the propeer shaft.
. @6ampes of the procedures for connecting to*ing ines
As e6ampes of the procedures for connecting to*ing ines4 the 5asic procedures for the pattern
1=84 2=8 and 3=8 are sho*n 5eo*. &he captain shoud decide the connecting procedures in
consideration of the arrangement of mooring e)uipment and the ship status after consuting *ith
the captain of the to*ing ship and inform the cre*s of the procedures.
(Note: The following examples are developed to be used as the common procedures for
ordinary ships. It should be noted, however, that the examples are developed for this ship and
that there may be cases where these examples are not applicable to other ships, especially of
which design and equipment are largely different from this ship. howing the connecting
procedures simply by diagrams of dec! arrangements used in ection ".# and ection ".$ may
be a practical way.%
