Introduction
Handwriting is something manually written by a person using pen, pencil or any means to
book, wall or any surface.
Handwriting shows our thinking pattern, behaviours, strengths, weakness, attitude
and many things. In this digital world, writing is losing importance and everyone wants to
express things in digital way. But luckily still schools give higher importance to manual
writing than digital. Since manual writing is compulsory in school, all the parents want
their children to write neat and fast.
Manual writing has a lot of advantages and it can change the person to great attitude,
high confidence and take him towards highest clarity. For the first time when I read about
graphology in the year 2000, I was curious to explore it. Eventually I took a formal
course on Graphology. After that I read lots of books on Handwriting improvement,
Handwriting analysis, Grapho therapy. After the course I started to practice my new
handwriting, as days gone, I started feeling something changing in me. I experienced a
drastic change in 40 days of practice of new handwriting.
I observed my Analytical skills, observation skills, concentration, confidence,
planning, improved and some of the things which were looking difficult started looking
easy for me. I changed my handwriting and signature within 6 months all the new
characters and traits had become very strong in me. That phase was very wonderful and I
thank the true science Graphology.
After learning positive ways of writing (Graphology), I studied more concepts on
Handwriting improvement. I found a gap between Grapho logical concepts and Cursive
letters which was taught in school. Few letters had negatively formed as per graphology. I
wanted to bridge the handwriting concepts and Graphology so that whatever the children/
students or anyone, writes it has to be in a positive way, so his/her attitude and
personality keeps becoming stronger and stronger.
This work is the bridge between graphology concepts and Handwriting concepts. So
our aim is to teach Handwriting so that it is legible at the same time the person becomes
positively strong as he inks every time.

c. Holding of Pen
The relationship between the holding of pen/pencil and efficient writing is yet to be
determined. There are certain types of holding positions that aid writing efficiency.
The most popular are the dynamic Tripod and dynamic Quadrupod which are
recommended by occupational therapists and educators. Adapting new grip is very
challenging, if the writer is comfortable, and has good speed in the present grip it is better
to allow to continue the same. Since every pen grip has some benefits for writing.
Dynamic Tripod
The ring finger and little fingers are tucked into palm, while your thumb and index finger
is holding the pen and the pen rests on middle finger it is dynamic tripod.

d. Holding of Pen from the nib position.
Right -handers have to hold distance of 1.5 cm from the nib and left-hander has to hold
3cm from nib so the written content is visible.
e. Choosing of Pen.
Always use the right tool for the Job. You have to try with different types of inks and size pens and
select whichever is comfortable for you. Selecting the pen is tricky because many varieties of pens
are available in the market. Here are some tips to help you.
There are 3 things to think while selecting the pen.
1. The type of Ink it uses.
2. The size and shape of Pen; and
3. The type of point it has.
1. Pens with the different Inks
Ball point pens are the most popular they use oil based ink.
They are cheap, easy to get, quick to dry and don’t smudge.
The ink doesn’t flow very smoothly.
Roller Ball pens use water based ink and write more thickly than ball point pens.
Rollerball ink flows very smoothly and help you to write faster.
The ink doesn’t dry quickly so it can smudge.
Gel Ink pens are new and popular because they come in different colours.
They are smooth and free flowing pens like roller pens, but they dry quickly and
don’t smudge,
They are expensive and sometimes the flow of ink can stop and start for no reason.
2. Size and shape
Pens come in all shapes and sizes and you have to try out a few before you feel a
comfortable one.
Ask yourself
Is it short or long, thick or thin?
Does it have cushioned grip?
Is it smooth to touch?
Is it heavy or light?
A pen with a thick barrel or a cushioned grip is easier to hold and can be more
comfortable to write with. Very slim pens can be slippery to hold and could cause your
hand muscles to strain.
3. Pen points
Pens have different nibs – fine, extra fine, medium, and bold point.
Fine points write thin lines, and medium and bold points write thicker lines.
Pens that write thickly may be smoother to write with and fine nib pens may help you
write more neatly.
