The HistoryGay men have been marrying each other throughout history. In fact, ancient societies such as ancient Sparta and the Dorian Island of Thera officially recognized same sex relationships. One specific group of people who practiced homosexuality were Celts.

Gay Marriage in the World
Currently there are 11 countries where same-sex marriage is legal
The Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Canada, South Africa, Norway, Sweden, Portugal, Iceland, Argentina, and Uruguay
States12 states have recognized and legalized gay marriage including the District of Columbia 30 states prohibit same-sex marriage in their constitutions
The Defense of Marriage Act of 1996 prevented the govt. from recognizing same sex-marriages
