We must receive an excuse in writing for all absences, late arrivals and early check-outs. Please make sure you provide the school with a written note for all absences. If your child miss- es school for a medical appointment, please make sure you send a note to the school from the medical provider. All attendance notes must be received within 3 days of the absence. State law mandates that a student must attend school 90% of the time each semester to receive credit for each course. Therefore, if a student is absent more than 10% of the total days offered, regardless of whether the absences are excused or unexcused, the student will lose credit for academ- ic courses missed. An appeal process may be initiated through the AP office to have credit reinstated due to extenu- ating circumstances. Tardies—All students must be seated in their classrooms by 8:40 a.m. Students that accumulate 4 tardies or more within a grading period, will be assigned to a 1 hour after school detention.
