What is the Salvation Army?
The Salvation Army is one of the worlds largest religious
welfare organisations helping people over 100 countries
around the world. Their mission is to help and bring love and
care to people in need. On an average week they assist over
100 000 Australians who require assistance and help.
Publicity
The Salvation Army is the extremely famous well known
organisation in Australia. They use news papers and
magazines for publicity since 1879 in the United Kingdom
and America.
How many people are
involved?
They give people 1000,000 meals to the poor people and
5,000 to 8,000 food vouchers. They also give 2,000 beds and
refuge to 500 victims.
Do this group need more
funding ?
The group needs more funds from, People and Federal and
State Government funding.
How well known is this
group?
The Salvation Army is a world wide Christian church. Its
message is based on the bible. Its mission is to preach the
gospel of Jesus Christ and meet human needs in his name
without discrimination.
Are there any danger to
volunteers?
Yes ,Volunteers may be at times when they are involved in
dangerous situations. However through training, and using the
right equipment, and the right processes the danger is
reduced.
What are the needs of your
local community?
The salvation army provides many services that support and
strengthen families and respond when families are unable to
cope. Over 30,000 families are assisted each year. Like family
support and related counselling services, women's refuges and
domestic violence services, adolescent and children's
services, marriage and family education and support, etc.
Do you have personal
experience with this group?
I have not have experience because I have not known anyone
that works with the Salvation army.
