  • 1.SalvationFor the wages of sin is death, but the giftof God is eternal life in Christ Jesus ourLord. Romans 6:23

2. What is Salvation? Salvation is redemption (being rescued) by God from the effects of sin. We know that every one who sins must pay the ultimate penalty that is death both physical and spiritual. (Rom 6:23 NIV) For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesusour Lord. (Rom 8:2 NIV) because through Christ Jesus thelaw of the Spirit of life set me free from the law ofsin and death. 3. How do you get Salvation? By accepting Gods plan of redemption for you. God has sacrificed another innocent person on your behalf. By accepting this sacrifice, you are declared innocent of all guilt and fit to enter into the presence of God. 4. How do you get Salvation? (Rom 10:9 NIV) That if you confess with your mouth,"Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raisedhim from the dead, you will be saved. (Rom 10:10 NIV) For it is with your heart that you believeand are justified, and it is with your mouth that youconfess and are saved. (Rom 10:11 NIV) As the Scripture says, "Anyone whotrusts in him will never be put to shame."(John 1:29 NIV) The next day John saw Jesus comingtoward him and said, "Look, the Lamb of God, who takesaway the sin of the world! (Eph 2:5 NIV) made us alive with Christ even when wewere dead in transgressions--it is by grace you havebeen saved. (Eph 2:8 NIV) For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is thegift of God-- 5. How do you get Salvation? (Eph 2:9 NIV) not by works, so that no one can boast. (1 Peter 1:18 NIV) For you know that it was not with perishablethings such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from theempty way of life handed down to you from your forefathers, (1 Pet 1:19 NIV) but with the precious blood of Christ, a lambwithout blemish or defect. (Acts 16:31 NIV) They replied, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, andyou will be saved--you and your household." (John 10:9 NIV) I am the gate; whoever enters through mewill be saved. He will come in and go out, and find pasture. (Acts 2:21 NIV) And everyone who calls on the name of theLord will be saved. (Acts 15:11 NIV) No! We believe it is through the grace of ourLord Jesus that we are saved, just as they are." (Luke 7:50 NIV) Jesus said to the woman, "Your faith hassaved you; go in peace." 6. How do we know for sure that weare saved? By believing God and having faith in Him, we are counted righteous. We are in faith here and the only proof that we will have is the down payment that is promised to usThe Holy Spirit. (Rom 4:3 NIV) What does the Scripture say? "Abrahambelieved God, and it was credited to him as righteousness." (Rom 5:5 NIV) And hope does not disappoint us, because Godhas poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us. (1 Cor 6:19 NIV) Do you not know that your body is a templeof the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have receivedfrom God? You are not your own; (1 Cor 6:20 NIV) you were bought at a price. Therefore honorGod with your body. 7. Can you lose Salvation? No! Because you did nothing to achieve salvation and because t is a gift of God, it is not possible to lose something that you never made but was gifted to you. Therefore we are told that none of us can boast about it. (Eph 2:8 NIV) For it is by grace you have beensaved, through faith--and this not fromyourselves, it is the gift of God-- (Eph 2:9 NIV) not by works, so that no onecan boast. 8. Can you lose Salvation?Jesus addresses this issue very clearly when He saysthat no one can snatch His sheep out of His handbecause the Father has chosen them and given them toHim for eternal salvation. (AMEN) (John 10:27 NIV) My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, andthey follow me. (John 10:28 NIV) I give them eternal life, and they shall neverperish; no one can snatch them out of my hand. (John 10:29 NIV) My Father, who has given them to me, isgreater than all ; no one can snatch them out of my Fathershand. (John 17:24 NIV) "Father, I want those you have given me tobe with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory youhave given me because you loved me before the creation of theworld. 9. Can you lose Salvation? (John 17:12 NIV) While I was with them, I protectedthem and kept them safe by that name you gaveme. None has been lost except the one doomed todestruction so that Scripture would be fulfilled. (John 17:9 NIV) I pray for them. I am not prayingfor the world, but for those you have given me, forthey are yours. (John 17:11 NIV) I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, and I am coming to you.Holy Father, protect them by the power of yourname--the name you gave me--so that they maybe one as we are one. (John 17:20 NIV) "My prayer is not for them alone. Ipray also for those who will believe in me throughtheir message, 10. Who are going to be Saved? All those who call on the name of the Lord will besaved. (Rom 10:9 NIV) That if you confess with yourmouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in yourheart that God raised him from the dead, youwill be saved. (Rom 10:10 NIV) For it is with your heart thatyou believe and are justified, and it is withyour mouth that you confess and are saved. 11. Do we have free will to choose orreject God?Yes! God has never forced anyone to obey Him. Hewants us to come to Him of our own free will. Therefore we have a choice, we can accept Him andhave eternal life or reject Him and face death andeternal separation from God. (John 8:24 NIV) I told you that you would die in your sins; if you do not believe that I (Jesus) am the one I claim to be, you will indeed die in your sins." 12. What is Predestination orElection?Predestination is looking at things from Godsperspective. We human beings have freedom tomake our own choices, however God since He is allknowing, knows what our choices will be. Since Godhas this knowledge of the future, He can determineevents before they occur. In fact He has determinedthem before the world was made. 13. What is Predestination orElection?Let us look at what God tells the prophet Jeremiah (Jeremiah 1:4 NIV) The word of the LORD came to me, saying,(Jer 1:5 NIV) "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as aprophet to the nations."God tells Rebekah the mother of twin unborn babies the samething (Gen 25:22 NIV) The babies jostled each other within her, andshe said, "Why is this happening to me?" So she went to inquireof the LORD. (Gen 25:23 NIV) The LORD said to her, "Two nations are in yourwomb, and two peoples from within you will be separated; onepeople will be stronger than the other, and the older willserve the younger." 14. What is Predestination orElection? (Romans 9:10 NIV) Not only that, but Rebekahs children had one and the same father, our father Isaac. (Rom 9:11 NIV) Yet, before the twins were born or had done anything good or bad--in order that Gods purpose in election might stand: (Rom 9:12 NIV) not by works but by him who calls--she was told, "The older will serve the younger." (Rom 8:29 NIV) For those God foreknew he alsopredestined to be conformed to the likeness of hisSon, that he might be the firstborn among manybrothers. (Rom 8:30 NIV) And those he predestined, he alsocalled; those he called, he also justified; those hejustified, he also glorified. 15. What is Predestination orElection? HE CHOSE US HE CALLED US HE JUSTIFIED US.(SAVED US) HE PROTECTS US.(KEEPS US SAVED)(John 10:28 NIV) HE GLORIFIED US 16. What is Predestination orElection? 2 Thessalonians 2:13 NIV) But we ought always to thankGod for you, brothers loved by the Lord, because from thebeginning God chose you to be saved through thesanctifying work of the Spirit and through belief in the truth. (2 Timothy 1:9 NIV) who has saved us and called us toa holy life--not because of anything we have done butbecause of his own purpose and grace. This grace wasgiven us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time, (2 Th 2:14 NIV) He called you to this through ourgospel, that you might share in the glory of our Lord JesusChrist. (Titus 3:5 NIV) he saved us, not because of righteousthings we had done, but because of his mercy. He savedus through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the HolySpirit, (Titus 3:7 NIV) so that, having been justified by hisgrace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal 17. Make sure you are Saved! Here is what God thinks of our good works (Isaiah 64:6 NIV) All of us have become like one who isunclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags;we all shrivel up like a leaf, and like the wind our sinssweep us away. Works do not save us, faith does (Romans 9:30 NIV) What then shall we say? That theGentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, have obtainedit, a righteousness that is by faith; (Rom 9:31 NIV) but Israel, who pursued a law ofrighteousness, has not attained it. (Rom 9:32 NIV) Why not? Because they pursued it notby faith but as if it were by works. They stumbled overthe "stumbling stone." 18. Once saved we will bear fruit! Faith will produce works. We cannot do good works to be saved, but once the Lord saves us by faith that He gives us, we will automatically produce fruit. We are like seeds that are sown and our seed will produce a tree that will give its fruit in season. (James 2:14 NIV) What good is it, my brothers, if a manclaims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith savehim? (James 2:15 NIV) Suppose a brother or sister iswithout clothes and daily food. (James 2:16 NIV) If one ofyou says to him, "Go, I wish you well; keep warm and wellfed," but does nothing about his physical needs, what goodis it? (James 2:17 NIV) In the same way, faith by itself, ifit is not accompanied by action, is dead. (James 2:18 NIV) But someone will say, "You have faith; Ihave deeds." Show me your faith without deeds, and I willshow you my faith by what I do. 19. Blessings to allChristian Youth Fellowship
