Dylan - I think this painting represents how the ship is made (by mankind) and is represented as a person as a ship.

TJ - I think this painting is about a human that has been fused with a ship as you can see in the painting. Also I think the person-ship is a female or a part human-ship skeleton down at the waist.

Jordan R. - I think this image is about slaves who were forced row huge ships in vast numbers. I think that the man carrying the sail represents the force and strength it took to row the ship. I also think that the slave in the picture is a metaphor for what the slave does for the ship. So basically, without the slaves, the ship would be useless.

Antonio - I think the painting represents pain. Whoever was carrying the ship, it looks like it has become part of him because he has been carrying it for too long.

T.J.- I think this painting is about a lot of melting clocks, and it’s like over the temperature of melting metal.

Antonio- since Salvador Dali was a drug addict, maybe the painting represents a different dimension, or it could be how he sees the world with his memory.

Jordan- I think the clocks either represent the time it took to make what they’re representing in the painting or maybe the artist is trying to say that time revolves around everything.

Dylan- I think in the image, the melting clocks could symbolize wasting away with time. I say that because the clocks seem to be melting so that might be an image to suggest a metaphor for time wasting away.

Jordan- I think this painting was meant to be an illusion to the viewer.

Antonio- in the painting, I think a father is showing his son a demented dead whale after the rain is over. I say this because the father seems to be showing the son something and they are both gazing up at the whale. It looks as if the father brought the boy there specifically to show him something. I’d like to add that the father and son figure is a repeated theme in Dali’s work.

Dylan- I think this could be an image of Salvador Dali’s wife. I think this because a wife might be an important person in his life so he might want to paint her.
