Best Bred by Exhibitor—Offered through the SCGSF, in memory of MBIS, SBIS, Nord, DK, CH. Castlebay Enzo Ferrari. A Bronze Saluki at play by sculptor Nancy Leising on wooden base, donated by Michael and Nancy Leising—Castlebay Salukis and Nicklas and Ingunn Eriksson—Qirmizi Salukis. It must be won 3 times by the same owner not necessarily the same dog, nor at consecutive shows. Trophy to remain in the possession of donor until retired. Extended Generation Class Winner – Offered through SCGSF, in memory of Ch, Kenmar-Knoll Wamiqa Kyzyl Kum, Ch. D’Ansor’s Jerzy’s Jeep and Ch. Ziba Hunters Moon of D’Ansor, an exquisite resin sculpture of a reclining Saluki on a wooden base. For permanent possession, it must be won three times by the same owner, not necessarily with the same dog, nor at consecutive shows. Trophy to remain in the possession of the donors until retired. This trophy, originally donated by Kyzyl Kum Salukis, Brian and Wendy Duggan, was retired and re-donated in 2004 by Ziba Salukis, the Skup-ny Family. It was again retired in 2007 and is re-donated by D’Ansor Salukis, Gina and Erin Hayden. Highest Scoring Saluki in Regular Obedience Class – Dr. James and Karen Black through the Saluki Club of Greater San Francisco offer for competition at the Annual Specialty Show, The Himar Cup. This small, sterling sliver bowl is awarded to the Highest Scoring Saluki in the Regular Obedience Classes. For permanent possession, it must be won three times by the same owner, not necessarily the same dog, nor at consecutive shows. Trophy to remain in possession of the club until retired.

The following categories of dogs may be entered and shown in Best of Breed competition: Dogs that are Champions of Record. Dogs which according to their owners records have completed the requirements for a championship but whose championships are unconfirmed. The entry and showing of dogs whose championships are unconfirmed is limited to a period of 90 days from the date of the show where a dog completed the requirements for a championship according to the owner's records. If, at the end of the 90 day period, the championship of a dog has not been confirmed by AKC, no further entries of the dog for Best of Breed competition are to be made until its championship has been confirmed by AKC....(Ch. 3, Sec. 13 AKC Rules Applying to Dog Shows).

FIELD COURSING CLASS (Separated by Sex) — For dogs and bitches who are AKC registered and have a confirmed coursing championship from NOFCA, NACA

or TCC. NOTE: Exhibitor MUST supply proof of eligibility for the class with entry. A copy of the certificate awarding the title will be accepted as proof and MUST accompany he entry form. First Place only will be awarded in this class. First place winners are eligible for Best of Breed competition provided all AKC eligibility and requirements have been met. LURE COURSING CLASS (Separated by Sex) — For dogs and bitches who are AKC registered and have a confirmed lure coursing championship from AKC or SFA. NOTE: Exhibitor MUST supply proof of eligibility for the class with entry. A copy of the certificate awarding the title or a copy of the ENTIRE PAGE from either the AKC Awards or FAN magazine publishing the title will be accepted as proof and MUST accompany the entry form. First Place only will be awarded in this class. First place winners are eligible for Best of Breed competition provided all AKC eligibility and requirements have been met.

Winners of the above classes are eligible to compete in Best of Breed Competition.

Get must be entered in a Regular or Non-Regular Class or Best of Breed Competition at this show. Award will be based on the merits of the get. The Winner is not eligible to compete for Best of Breed by virtue of having won this class. First place only will be awarded in this class.

ROOD BITCH CLASS — Will be for Brood Bitch and two of Produce. Brood Bitch & Produce do not necessarily have to be owned by the same person. Produce must be entered in a Regular or Non-Regular Class or Best of Breed Competition at this show. Award will be based on the merits of the get. The Winner is not eligible to compete for Best of Breed by virtue of having won this class. First place only will be awarded in this class.

EXTENDED GENERATION — The class entry must be made up of a minimum of 3 generations of Salukis with one a direct descendant from each successive generation, i.e. Dogs A, B, C; A is sire/dam of B who is sire/dam of C. Only one representative from each generation is allowed. Dogs A, B and C must be entered in a regular or non-regular class, or Best of Breed competition at this show. You must indicate Dog A on the entry form but it is not necessary to indicate Dog B or C on their entry form. Judge’s decision is based on merits and likeness of get. The Winner is not eligible to compete for Best of Breed by virtue of having won this class. First Place only will be awarded in this class. BRACE CLASS — For two Salukis (a unit) irrespective of sex with at least one common owner.and shown by no more than two handlers. Dogs entered in Brace must be entered in a regular or non-regular class at this show. If more than one Brace is entered by the same owner, the dogs comprising EACH Brace must be so designated “Brace No. 1”, “Brace No. 2” etc. Fee is $15.00 per unit. The Winners are not eligible to compete for Best of Breed by virtue of having won this class. First Place only will be awarded in this class.

PARADE OF VETERANS — This is a noncompetitive exhibition class for dogs or bitches that are seven (7) years of age or older. Each entrant will receive a club-decorated rosette. Full particulars must be given for each dog on the Official AKC entry form if the Parade is the only entry for the dog. Participants may submit a brief (e.g., 100 word max) narrative to be read over the public address system during the parade. Submit narrative regarding your exhibit to be read during the Parade to Brian Duggan, 11101 Early Dawn Road, Turlock, CA 95380.

BEST PUPPY—Will be chosen from the winners of the 6-9 and 9-12 puppy dog and bitch regular classes following Best of Breed competition. BEST VETERAN—Will be chosen from the 1st place winners of the 7-9, 9-11, 11 and over Veteran dog and bitch classes following Best of Breed competition.

NOHS Judging Procedures for the AKC National Owner-Handled Series Determining Exhibitor Eligibility The first step in judging the AKC National Owner-Handled Series is determining exhibitor eligibility. Follow these tips to properly make the eligibility determination: Exhibitors must declare their dog AKC National Owner-Handled Series eligible at the time of entry using the check box on the entry form. The handler must be an owner of record according to the AKC’s records as of the date of the show.Dogs declared eligible will be identified by an asterisk or other representative mark in the steward’s book and in the show catalog. Professional handlers, household members and current assistants to professional handlers may not exhibit. A current assistant is defined as anyone employed by a professional handler on a full-time basis, or, assisting a professional handler at the show or any show during the cluster/weekend. Dogs must be handled by an owner-handler eligible for the AKC National Owner-Handled Series throughout the breed level competition for the regular show. This includes the class competition and subsequent competi-tion in the breed ring. Additionally, dogs must be handled by an eligible owner-handler for all AKC National Owner-Handled Series competition. The Owner-Handled Best of Breed will be selected from the eligible dogs that competed in the Best of Breed/Variety competition for the regular show. This includes Winners Dog, Winners Bitch, and the undefeated winners of the non-regular classes. This excludes all dogs defeated during class and winners competition for the regular show. Determining Best of Breed/Variety Breed judging for the AKC National Owner-Handled Series is conducted following Best of Breed judging in each breed ring. All dogs in the BOB competition (including WD & WB) will stay in the ring after the judge makes their placements in BOB competition. The ring steward will ask all professional handlers, household members of and current assistants to a professional handler, and any exhibitor that did not indicate on their entry that they were eligible for the AKC National Owner-Handled Series to leave the ring and then the judge will then select the Owner-Handled Best of Breed. A dog being “cut” or otherwise “defeated” in the Best of Breed ring remains eligible to compete in the AKC National Owner-Handled Series. The Owner-Handled Best of Breed will be selected from the eligible exhibits based on the program guidelines and procedures. Judging of the breed/variety for the regular show may determine the dog that is awarded Owner-Handled Best of Breed. Please follow these guidelines: If the Best of Breed/Variety winner of the regular show is eligible for the AKC National Owner-Handled Series competition, it will also be awarded Owner-Handled Best of Breed. In this case the dog will be eligible to compete in group competition for the regular show and group competition for the AKC National Owner-Handled Series. If the regular show Best of Breed/Variety winner is not eligible for AKC National Owner-Handled Series competition and the regular show Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed/Variety is eligible, the regular show Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed/Variety will compete against the eligible exhibits of the other sex to determine Owner-Handled Best of Breed. If neither the Best of Breed nor the Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed/Variety from the regular show is eligible for the AKC National Owner-Handled Series competition and both the Select Dog and Select Bitch are eligible, the judge is to choose Owner-Handled Best of Breed from the Selects and any eligible Winners Dog or Winners Bitch. If one of the Selects from the regular show is eligible for AKC National Owner-Handled Series competition, excuse all eligible champions and non-regular class winners of the same sex and then choose Owner-Handled Best of Breed from the remaining eligible dogs of the opposite sex including the eligible Winners. If the regular show Best of Breed, Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed, Select Dog & Select Bitch are not eligible, the judge may choose any eligible dog who competed in Best of Breed including Winners Dog or Winners Bitch as the Owner-Handled Best of Breed.
